You wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at his most recent group of work. Greg approaches walls with the traditional graffiti subject, letters and type. The difference is clear though as his walls are not from the NY school of letters, but from the ancient and type based calligraphic school of letters. With the new mix of street artists taking to walls around the world, I am usually more annoyed then impressed when it comes to their approach, or ability to understand the history of the medium.

Luca Barcelona y el arte de la Caligrafía. Hoy he descubierto, de rebote para variar, el website de Luca Barcellona . Un diseñador gráfico y caligrafista italiano, que me ha dejado con la boca abierta. Siempre he sido un fanático de todo lo relacionado con las letras. Entiéndase caligrafía , tipografía , graffiti , y todo lo que el abecedario pudiera englobar a nivel creativo y/u/o artístico. Cuando era un crio, en Barcelona ciudad, y me empezaba a interesar por la escena graffiti local, alucinaba con el uso que le daban a la tipografía escritores como Sendy’s, Akira o Tarantini entre otros (de esto hace ya casi 20 años y desafortunadamente sólo Sendy’s sigue en activo).
La búsqueda del estilo con los rotuladores me parecía una tarea ardua y solo accesible a los, por aquel entoces, machacas de la ciudad.
