Chocolate Wafers (Ice Cream Sandwich Cookies) « flamingobear. There has never been a day when I have not been proud of you, I said to my daughter, though some days I’m louder about other stuff so it’s easy to miss that. – Brian Andreas from Storypeople A recent conversation, just the two of us in the car on the way to soccer practice: “Mama, I’m not popular,” my 10-year-old announces to me quite matter of fact.

Although she said this without so much as a trace of sadness or wistfulness, my heart breaks for her. “Of course, you’re popular. Everybody likes you and says how nice you are. “Yeah. “What do you mean?” “I don’t make fun of C. and treat her mean and laugh at her, so I’m not popular.” And later, listening to P! “Mama, I really like this song, especially the part where she sings ‘Oh hot lamb’” “Me, too” I said, suppressing a laugh, and letting her be a little girl for a little longer.

My hubby LOVES his football, and he loves when I make him good stuff to munch on while he's watching a game. Kim's post called for frozen dough, which is definitely an option if you're looking for a little less preparation. Nacho Dogs Recipe. Anyone that enjoys different types of hot dogs must give these nacho dogs a try.

Nacho Dogs Recipe

This is another great recipe for game day. These hot dogs are topped with nacho cheese, guacamole, salsa, chopped onions, and pickled jalapenos. The guacamole is made from scratch but you could also buy it in the store if you want to save some time. For the hot dogs, I would recommend getting all beef hot dogs. A Ghostbusters S’More. (click to enlarge) I’m used to featuring cool art on the site, but rarely do I get something three dimensional that’s this cool.

A Ghostbusters S’More

It’s a clay model sculpture of Mr. Stay Puft upset about a turn of fate that has him stuffed into a delicious campfire treat. I’m not sure he shrunk, or if the Ghosterbusters just wrangled up some giant graham crackers and chocolate bars. Some creative redditor came up with this piece, and I wish I could track him down to see what else is in his collection.

Popsicles! Not to sound full of myself, but I’m pretty sure this is the be all, end all of popsicle roundups.

Popsicles!

There’s a little something for everyone: the foodies, the purists, the ones who prefer frozen yogurt, the ones who prefer a little alcohol, everyone. Tweny-five options to be exact. The post I did last summer on the cold guys was one of DC’s most viewed ever, so I thought you’d all be up for another round – was I right? Click on the photo to be taken to the recipe.
