SchemaWeb - RDF Schemas Directory. Introduction to RDF Query with SPARQL Tutorial for WWW2005. An Introduction to RDF (1) What Is RDF. Published on XML.com this if you're having trouble printing code examples What Is RDFBy Joshua Tauberer July 26, 2006 Editor's Note: "What Is RDF" was originally written by Tim Bray in 1998 and updated by Dan Brickley in 2001. Recently it seemed like time for another update, particularly to relate RDF and the Semantic Web to the cutting edge of web development. We've republished the original in a new location and offer the following update. I'll leave to you, dear reader, the task of deciding how well Joshua Tauberer has accomplished the task of updating a classic. -- Kendall Grant Clark Building the Semantic Web On the Semantic Web (SemWeb), computers do the browsing (and searching, and querying, and...) for us.

There, of course, is knowledge on the current web, but it's off limits to computers. So, now imagine a new web where the real content can be manipulated by computers. 1. Figure 1. 2. 3. Triples for Knowledge Distributed Knowledge.

w3c. Microformats and RDFa deployment across the Web « Tripletalk. I have presented on previous occasions (at Semtech 2009, SemTech 2010, and later at FIA Ghent 2010, see slides for the latter, also in ISWC 2009) some information about microformat and RDFa deployment on the Web. As such information is hard to come by, this has generated some interest from the audience. Unfortunately, Q&A time after presentations is too short to get into details, hence some additional background on how we obtained this data and what it means for the Web.

This level of detail is also important to compare this with information from other sources, where things might be measured differently. The chart below shows the deployment of certain microformats and RDFa markup on the Web, as percentage of all web pages, based on an analysis of 12 billion web pages indexed by Yahoo! Search. The same analysis has been done at three different time-points and therefore the chart also shows the evolution of deployment. Microformats and RDFa deployment on the Web (% of all web pages)

ConverterToRdf - ESW Wiki. A Converter to RDF is a tool which converts application data from an application-specific format into RDF for use with RDF tools and integration with other data. Converters may be part of a one-time migration effort, or part of a running system which provides a semantic web view of a given application. See also: RDFImportersAndAdapters Please add converters as you make them or hear of them. Formats in alphabetical order: BibTex BibTex is the format for bibliographic references in TeX.

BibBase transforms BibTeX files (given in a URL) into Linked Data with RDF/XML output support. Bittorrent is alas now 404 (in 2007). CSV (Comma-Separated Values) See also: Flat Files and TSV An RDF Extension is available for Google Refine. Debian The package information in Debian and similar systems (Ubuntu, Fink, etc), with its general usefulness and its graph-like nature, is a clear candidate for conversion to RDF. See VitaVoni blog about this. Excel See JPEG. File Systems. The RDF Database Market—Clark & Parsia: Thinking Clearly. Update: Stardog is our entry into the commercial RDF database market. There’s plenty of talk about the purely technical aspects of RDF databases but considerably less talk about the RDF database market as a commercial software business.

As I see it, the commercial RDF database market contains at least seven systems, listed here in random order: There are another 8 to 10 technically viable RDF databases available. However, I want to talk about these seven systems as comprising the commercial market, by which I mean systems that satisfy two conditions: first, they are production-ready; and, second, they are commercially licensed (that is, you have to pay money to use them). A weaker version of the latter condition, which I’m happy with, is just that there is a single entity which owns the system (i.e., they are not community-owned) and that entity is commercial (i.e., profit-seeking) in nature.

Most of these systems have a zero-cost version or are open-source licensed. No Pure Plays. Convert XLS to HTML or XML Easily with 'Convert XLS'.  20 times faster than using Excel. Excel is not required. NOTE: 'Convert XLS' can be used simply with the graphical user interface (GUI). If you've never heard of 'Command Line' before, we would recommend not reading this section and instead download and try the software. This is just a sample from the documentation.

If you have trouble running these examples please see Using the Command Helpful Hints For Creating a Command Line within the documentation. The first example shows how to convert a single worksheet within an Excel file to a HTML file using both the ‘Convert XLS’ and ‘MS Excel’ conversion methods. Also in the first example we’ll show how to specify a specific range within a sheet(s) to convert. The second example shows how to convert multiple sheets within a single Excel file. The third and final example shows how to convert one or more sheets within many Excel files within a folder (and subfolders).

To convert to XML simply change the /C44 to /C46 in the examples below. Example 1 (Single Sheet Conversion) C:\Out\B.HTM. Vocabularies | Semantic Web. A Two Day Introduction to the Web of Data. The contents here are for a 2 day course written by Talis . The two day agenda is designed to take people with a desire to learn about the Semantic Web, Web of Data and Linked Data from a position of no prior knowledge to the point where they can start practical work with these technologies. During the two day agenda we cover RDF, Data Modelling, RDF Schema (vocabularies, ontologies) and SPARQL through a number of presented sessions and hands-on practical tasks. The course is technical in nature and works well for Data Managers, Curators, Statisticians and Information Architects as well as Developers or Software Engineers.

The authors of this course are Rob Styles, Leigh Dodds, Ian Davis, Tim Hodson and Keith Alexander. Day One Day one of the course starts with introductions to the Web of Data and RDF, and leads on to data modelling for the Web using RDF. 10:00 Welcome 10:30 What is the Web of Data 11:00 RDF - A Data Format for the Web 11:30 Data Modelling in RDF - Modelling without context.
