Abode / Described as the best paint color ever. Benjamin Moore "revere pewter"...must remember. A Salvaged Beauty: Meet Bold Beatrice. If you recall, I showed you this picture last evening of a treasure I scored purely by accident last week: She was headed to the burn pile. Can you believe it? Why don’t people see what I do? The adorable legs. The beautiful wood. All the character and charm in this piece? Are they blind? I digress. Obviously not everyone thinks like me. Probably a good thing really. I knew she needed a drastic change to bring out her natural beauty. She needed some bold color. Well, she got it. Meet Bold Beatrice!
Isn’t she a keeper? I used both paint and stain on her. I used this on a recent redo as well … click HERE to find out more about this stain over paint technique. I won these wicked cool pulls in a contest! They are just perfect for this piece! A little distressing and some stain goes a long way – I really like the effect on this piece.
I love her. I am thinking I may have to keep this one. I am sure I can find a spot. She would be much too difficult to part with. Side Note: what she will be used for. Linking To: Top Real Estate Stager Shares 5 No-Fail Paint Secrets. “We can use paint to calm chaotic spaces, make a room appear larger, mask imperfections, and give a home charm and wow factor” – Cheryl Eisen, President, Interior Marketing Group As soon as I read the Times article about stager Cheryl Eisen, the reigning prop princess of luxury New York real estate, I had to email her. “Do you use Benjamin Moore paint?” I wrote. Eisen, President of the Interior Marketing Group, who is almost always out in the field, gathering props, directing traffic, orchestrating painters and furniture handlers, and juggling TV appearances (on Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing”), responded impressively quick.

Today I worked on staining the top of the new kitchen island I have been building and in between coats seemed like the perfect time to bust out the Santas. I have quite an odd collection. My tastes have really changed over the last few years.
I have been drawn to the more folkish quirky Santas lately rather than the more traditional ones I started my collection with. I decided to group all the folksy types together on my dining room display shelf. Don't they just make you smile? I also brought out some of my favorite wispy garland and ornaments for our hutch. I filled my old wood bowl with a few pine cones and the jewel toned balls. Hmmm needs some Santas I think. My Sister made me those two Santas. I love it.
