Oracle SOA Reference Architecture. Designing SOA Reference Architecture being considered as one of the import milestone towards success of SOA implementation.

Oracle SOA Reference Architecture

I am not going to talk about the importance of SOA reference since there are enough discussion about this on the web. One of my earlier article also talks about that as well. refer reference-architecture-for-soa-adoption. In this article, I would like to briefly explain some of the Oracle SOA products and its role in the typical SOA reference architecture. In many SOA implementation or integration initiatives, the original version of Reference Architecture express the purpose of the initiative and various components. However after tools selection, that blue-print become diluted in order to match the product features. The following are core layer of SOA reference architecture. Oracle SOA Services - Service Oriented Architecture. For Oracle SOA Suite Service-oriented architecture (SOA) assists in removing the complexity of point-to-point integration between your applications.

Oracle SOA Services - Service Oriented Architecture

With point-to-point application integration, you face a complex environment, single point of failure, high maintenance cost, lack of flexibility, lack of scalability and excessive custom coding. Article. Before starting this white paper let me tell you that I am also like you (readers) who are from the world of Oracle, PLSQL, Oracle E-Business Suite work areas who is trying to get comfortable with the upcoming technologies related to Service Oriented Architecture.

I am not an expert in SOA arena. I am going to try to put things in simple terms. Some of you will differ with my opinion of starting developments related to ESB/BPEL without fully understanding the concept but I think this can also be one way of getting to the debth of the subject by actually developing it. Oracle SOA Maturity Model.

Based on extensive experience and work with customers and partners implementing SOA, Oracle has developed the Oracle SOA Maturity Model that gives decision makers a point of reference to evaluate the SOA maturity level of their organisations.

Oracle SOA Maturity Model

Oracle’s SOA Maturity Model puts forth a realistic business and technology view of what it takes for companies to successfully adopt SOA. It has five distinct levels of SOA maturity, from Level 1, Opportunistic SOA, which is about doing the first SOA projects, to the top Level 5 Industrialised SOA, which is about delivering on the vision of real-time enterprise that is integrated internally and with partners, and that can capitalise on new opportunities and where IT can deliver the agility demanded by business.

Each level is primarily designated by a vision and strategy, and has associated benefits. A company may start out on the road to SOA with a Level 3 vision; that is, strategic business automation and transformation. Oracle SOA Partner Community Forum V: My first encounter with the SOA Grid. A short while ago (august 26 and 27) I attended the Oracle SOA Partner Community Forum V in Utrecht (the Netherlands).

Oracle SOA Partner Community Forum V: My first encounter with the SOA Grid

With over 200 participants from all over Europe this was a great opportunity to see what Oracle has to offer and where fusion middleware is going in the near future. This Partner Community Forum came with a lot of keynotes and technical presentations, and unfortunately some commercial sales presentations, which I always try to skip. Nevertheless it was a great event with some very interesting subjects. All the presentations are accessible online if you are an Oracle partner and have an OTN account.

One of my favorite presentations was a keynote on SOA grid by Dave Chappell. The SOA grid is a new approach to thinking about SOA infrastructure. An application or service uses the grid through a familiar data structure, such as a Java HashMap or a .NET dictionary. There is a lot more to tell, but this post explains the concept in a nutshell. 1 Introduction to Oracle Enterprise Service Bus. Oracle SOA Suite enables you to create, manage, and orchestrate services into composite applications and business processes. Composites enable you to assemble multiple technology components into one SOA composite application. Oracle SOA Suite plugs in to heterogeneous IT infrastructures and enables enterprises to incrementally adopt SOA. This chapter describes Oracle SOA Suite components from a high availability perspective. This chapter also includes sections that outline the single-instance concepts for SOA components that are important for designing a high availability deployment.
