SPS safety switch now suitable for 16S March 20, 2013 - Before the new flight season is going to start we have launched two new SPS versions for electronic driven models. The well-known 60 volt SafetyPowerSwitches, which can be used with current load of 60/120 amps respectively 120/240 amps, will be replaced with two new 70 volt switches. The recent versions can now be used also inside flight models which are powered by LiPo batteries with up to 16 cells.
Helicopters are expensive, hard to fly and have issues with vibrations. So why would anyone want to use one of these things for aerial photography? They are extremely flexible, can lift large loads and don't need a large area for takeoff and landing: that's why. That flexibility comes from their ability to easily hold at various altitudes, which allows many photographs to be taken from each angle ensuring you get what you need. A good pilot can put a helicopter anywhere in the air you want to get pictures from, and can hold it there until you have all the photos you need.
The HYDROSTIK is not a one time use, disposable cartridge, and is thus more environmentally friendly. Unlike other fuel cartridges for fuel cells, it has the additional advantages of being refillable (from pressurized gas bottles, or from water-electrolysis based devices ), non-toxic, fully recyclable, and competitive on energy storage cost with existing battery devices. NOTE: 1 HYDROSTIK = 10 disposable AA batteries at 1W continuous power consumption. This is because at 1W power consumption, most AA batteries can last less than one hour, while a HYDROSTIK has enough energy to last 10 hours.
MatrixPilot is the latest firmware for the UAV Dev Board. It is based on William Premerlani's MatrixNav and AileronAssist firmwares, adds many important and fun new features, and allows much more configurability.
