The Robins Nest: Craft Of The Week... *CHALKBOARD HERB GARDEN*This is really easy, so let's get started...

The Robins Nest: Craft Of The Week...

First get some clay pots and tape off what you don't want painted with painters tape. Also put a piece of tape over the hole on the bottom so paint doesn't sneak in... Prime your clay pots with inexpensive primer-I used the kind you spray on... Brush on one coat of chalkboard paint, wait an hour and apply the second coat... In between coats I wrap my brush in plastic wrap so I don't have to clean it. The instructions say to wait 2 hours before writing on them with chalk-I gave it overnight to dry to make sure.

These are the most wonderful chalk pens that I've ever seen. *Up close outdoor photo* Topped off with a raffia bow~ I put my finished product behind my kitchen sink where the sun shines in nice and bright...This gives me easy access to my herbs when I need them for cooking or to put some mint into a nice cold glass of iced tea... Miniature mum plants in place of herbs... Yurt Buildng - StumbleUpon. Here is a free copy of my book Build your own yurt, written in 1995, It has been used by a great many people who have built their own yurts.

Our designs have progressed enormously since 1995. For a much more comprehensive guide see The Complete Yurt Handbook or see the rest of our website A complete guide to making a Mongolian Ger by P.R. King First edition 1995, Second edition 1997. Third edition, revised, updated, and expanded. 1997. LM105. Fellow knifemaker Mike Carter and I decided to try our hand at making some laminated denim handle material.

LM105

This was our first attempt so we knew it would be a learning experience, and it was. Micarta is a material, or process, developed in the 1950s by Westinghouse. It is basically layers of material bonded together with resins. Different materials can be used including linen, paper, canvas, and denim. The bonding can be done with a variety of epoxy of polyester resins. Since Norlpex-Micarta is rather anal about anyone else using the term, we named our handle material LM105. After doing some research, we decided to use West Systems 105 epoxy resin and 206 slow hardener. From what we read, the West Systems epoxy seemed to be one of the best available and is commonly used for building boats. We wanted to make a few pieces of laminated denim material so we cut our materials.

We quickly learned our first lesson. We placed another pan under each press to catch drippings. After sanding. The DIY Modern Outdoor Succulent Planter #2.
