I've had a lot of requests recently from people asking me for copies of my long-term planning for ICT - possibly because the government has just announced that the current ICT National Curriculum for England has been disapplied from September 2012 as it has been deemed to be "not fit for purpose".
My current ICT curriculum consists of three documents that I have written: objectives for each year group broken down into 'key ideas' and 'techniques' for seven different strands that I have divided the curriculum up into;a table for each year group detailing: each week of the year, the event/topic taking place then, my ICT lesson and the curriculum strand to which it is linked;a set of learning objectives and skills from which ICT lessons can be planned to ensure progression and provide for differentiated levels of success.

Our work in developing a Computing Curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2, and an initial supporting resources: ‘A guide to teaching programming’ has since grown into a full programming and computer networks schemes of lessons, both of which can be purchased below. The schemes have already received fantastic feedback from teachers and ICT/Computing coordinators across the country who are combining them with their existing ICT provision to help ensure coverage of the new Computing curriculum. Dr Ian Green from the School of Education here at Adelaide and I have used Padagogy101 (introduction to iPad in HE) and Padagogy201 (more advanced use for L&T) to train over 600 faculty from universities in Australia. For Singapore, Ian wasn’t going to be with me and I was solo, as well I needed a better way to leave resources in place for people to revisit. However I was completely surprised at what else happened. It was a huge amount of work to meet the Singapore deadlines and involved quite a bit of lost sleep. With the action verbs.
