Disable IE Enhanced Security does not work RDS-Session Host 2008 R2. Hello Peter Forster, After adding the Remote Desktop Role, IE Enhanced Security Configuration is set to “Off for users”. This is by design. If you add the Remote Desktop Role, at the Confirmation section you’ll receive the information „IE Enhanced Security Configuration will be turned off”. There are some wise reasons. One reason: For a better experience when Remote Desktop is enabled, it is a good idea to remove the enhanced security configuration from members of the Users group.

Please refer to: If you change the setting for IE ESC for users on your Remote Desktop Server, this change takes effect as soon as the user logs-off and logs-on again. I don’t know if there is an option to have this setting at first log-on in place. To verify the IE ESC configuration at the RD host, you can check the values of these two registry entries: 1. 2. Last month SkyByte Consulting performed a migration to Microsoft Office 2010 Professional for a 50 user company. The previous version used was Microsoft Office 2003 Professional. While 2003 served them very well for the past 6 years, an upgrade was due for a variety of reasons.

The client has a mix of desktop computers, but the majority of the company relies on four terminal servers with Citrix Presentation Server version 4.0 installed running Windows Server 2003 with SP2. All terminal users have roaming profiles, that copy back and forth between a dedicated server upon logging on and off the network. The actual upgrade stage went very smoothly. Microsoft has done a nice job with support for migrating from previous versions. On the first day with Office 2010, all user roaming profiles migrated successfully to the new versions, including Outlook profiles.

Greg Shultz shows you how to remove Libraries from the navigation pane in Windows 7 Explorer by editing the registry. I recently received an e-mail message from a TechRepublic Windows Blog reader concerning a blog post that I wrote back in February, "Be a Power User: Customize the File Management Features of Windows Explorer.

" In that post, I covered eight techniques that you can use to get more out of Windows Explorer in Windows 7. One of the techniques that I shared was how to expand the navigation pane. I showed you how to reconfigure Windows Explorer's navigation pane with its five sections--Favorites, Libraries, Homegroup, Computer, and Network, as shown in Figure A--into a more streamlined tree. Figure A By default, Windows Explorer's navigation pane contains five sections. To do this, you just select the Show All Folders check box in the Folder Options dialog box, as shown in Figure B. Notes. Remove Favorites from Windows Explorer in Windows 7. Greg Shultz shows you how to remove Favorites from the navigation pane in Windows 7's Windows Explorer by editing the registry. I recently showed you how to remove Libraries and HomeGroup from Windows 7's Windows Explorer in the articles: "Remove Libraries from Windows Explorer in Windows 7" and "Remove HomeGroup from Windows Explorer in Windows 7. " Soon after those articles were published, I was asked if there was a way to remove Favorites from Windows Explorer. Now personally, I can't think of one good reason for removing such a timesaving feature from Windows Explorer, but some of you are adamant that you want to remove this feature.

Therefore, I will acquiesce. In this edition of the Windows Desktop Report, I'll show you how to remove Favorites from the navigation pane in Windows 7's Windows Explorer by editing the registry. However, before I do so, I will take a moment to describe the benefits of the Favorites feature in order to try to convince you to keep it in Windows Explorer. Explorer.exe won't stay open. Publishing the Explorer as a internet.exe /e /n (etcetera) does not work. From off my LAN site at home, my local client continues to ask me for permission when launching this application.

Posible Cause:I can reproduce the following:Please see this article: suspect that the Explorer dll is not allowed to open in shell mode for Windows 2008 R2. Summary: I feel that this is the root cause (the shell) and I hope that someone from Citrix is reading this and can figure out a way to publish this file. About remote desktop loggin with the same domain account simultaneously.

Hi, Yes, you can, however, I do not recommend it in most cases. On Server 2003 and earlier, each user will see each other user's printers, each user will change the default printer for the other users, they will share the same profile in memory, they will have access to other sessions, they will change preferences affecting the others, etc. Under 2008 the situation is a little bit better because each user will not see printers from other sessions by default. Many applications are not designed to handle the case where other instances of the application are running at the same time on the same machine under the same user account and profile. Now if you fully understand all of the potential issues (and they are either not applicable or you resolve them), then having multiple users logon concurrently using the same account can work.
