You can play Yes and No Chairs with your students to teach and revise material while making it possible for your students to have loads of fun.
Play Yes and No Chairs The awesome thing about this classroom activity is that the only thing you need to have your students play it is some flashcards and two chairs. The game can be used to revise vocabulary, grammar and everyday language. What’s more, Yes and No Chairs stimulates your pupils, makes them really focused and engaged as there’s a competitive edge to it as well. Divide your students into two groups, ask the groups to form two lines in front of the board. Put two chairs by the board let your students know that one chair is a ‘yes’ chair and that the other is a ‘no’ chair. The way in which I play Yes and No Chairs When the chairs and my students are ready, I hold up a flashcard or show them a picture and describe it. As far as older students go, I often use this game to revise longer chunks of language.

Essentially a vocabulary review game / activity. Divide the class into two teams (they can choose a team name?). Take two chairs and turn them round so that anyone sitting in them will have their backs to the board. One person from each team comes up and sits in the chair. The teacher writes a word on the board and the other members of the team try to explain the word, without actually saying the target word. Months of the Year flashcards.
