Children learn through their active engagement with a range of materials that offer multiple opportunities. Learning experiences are devised in light of children’s responses to those offered, and take account of children’s interest and developmental needs. Sensory explorations play a significant role in the Playgroup programme. Children use their senses of touch, sight, smell, hearing and, on occasion, taste as they engage with a range of materials including paint, water, sand, clay, fabric and so on. For some families it may be more appropriate just to have a schedule for two or three hours in the morning.

Other families may find that a daily schedule doesn’t support them at all. It is about building character and empowering each individual to be an enthusiastic life-long learner and a global citizen of the future. As said by Ms Ho Ching, wife of Singapore’s Prime Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong in the Forward of EtonHouse 1996 Year Book. “The key to education is building character and developing capability. “Without character, society will degenerate. The idea of a quality international school in Singapore based on the British learning system is the brainchild of the founder Mrs Ng Gim Choo, when she accompanied her husband on assignment to London in the 1980s. The Importance of Praising Children

I feel very encouraged and motivated for my students to explore and enjoy their learning experiences. I believe that children need to be nurtured and those positive simple words enhances a child’s confidence and personality. Life skills are taught through loving discipline and children need to be guided. Therefore offering praise when deserved on small achievements is an important factor in school. Toilet training where to begin

Carmen Beginning toilet training is an exciting time for parents, but it can be difficult to know where to start. If you think it’s time to begin toilet training your child, there are a few things you should make sure of first. Is your child aware when they need to go to the toilet and do they have the appropriate words to associate the actions to for example pee pee/ poop? Do you have the equipment ready? When you are ready, make sure to remind your child about going to the toilet every hour or two and continue to have conversations about the toilet/ potty. Lots of praise and positive attention for even trying and sitting on the toilet is important so the child knows they are doing a good job.

Once you start, toilet training can take anywhere from a few days to a few months. EtonHouse International Pre-School, Bahrain. EtonHouse Kindergarten. With globalisation and increasing interaction between people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, how do we foster intercultural understanding and respect in our children? The current wave of globalisation is reinventing many cities and households, making them more diverse than in the past. Kids learn symbolic languages (painting drawing, playing with play dough…) to express themselves and discover better their own personality. Learning another language is essential for our children who will be working in a multi-cultural multi lingual world.

Modern families are so unique and diverse. They bring together, in one household, cultural perspectives, notions, traditions, heritage and sometimes genetic makeup from different parts of the world.
