Ravenclaw Illusion Scarf

At completion of chart 1, Knit 1 row in CC, then purl 1 row in CC. Follow chart 2, beginning at the top and working down. Bind off in CC. For fringe, cut 40 strands of each color; each piece should be approximately 20” (50.8 cm) long. Final Product Viewed straight on, you see stripes in the Ravenclaw house colors: BUT! Work 10 rows of k2 p2 ribbing, ending with a p1 to create a "seam" stitch out of which your thumb gusset will grow. Stripe PatternKnit 14, p2, k6 p2, knit 20, p1. Knit 11 rows of this pattern using MC. Knit 2 rows of this pattern using the contrasting color (CC). Knit 2 rows, of this pattern using MC. Knit 2 rows of this pattern using CC. Cable PatternAs you stripe, do a 3/3 cable.

For the left armwarmer, use a 3CF (sl 3 sts to cable needle, hold in front, k next 3 sts ,sl 3 sts off of the cable needle and k them). Work this cable on Round 11 (MC) of the stripe pattern, and then again on Round 2 (MC) of the stripe pattern. Author's Note: This means that the row before you change to CC and the row after you change back to MC will be cabled. Bind off in pattern. HP Dishcloth.
