Florence & The Machine Recommends

After her hugely successful debut album ‘Lungs’, the flame-haired Florence Welch returns with her equally emotive follow-up album, Ceremonials. The first single taken from the LP by Florence & The Machine , ‘What The Water Gave Me’ was performed at Chanel's S/S12 show by the singer busting out of a divine shell surrounded by glittering pearls and harps. Out now on Island Records, the epic album also features ‘Shake It Out’, as produced in full by the reputable sonic magician, Paul Epworth. Here Welch gives us her pick of places to go and things to see... Can you recommend… … a city? http://www.dazeddigital.com/music/article/11881/1/florence-the-machine-recommends
One of my favorite hacks at last weekend’s Music Hack Day is Tristan’s Swinger. The Swinger is a bit of python code that takes any song and makes it swing. It does this be taking each beat and time-stretching the first half of each beat while time-shrinking the second half. http://musicmachinery.com/2010/05/21/the-swinger/

The Swinger

As folks familiar with her live show would’ve expected, Glasser’s Cameron Mesirow dressed up to perform Ring ‘s “ Mirrorage ” on Fallon last night, but she really went for it. Kinda feels like a trip to Epcot Center. This was her American television debut. There was more to that performance than Glasser & Co.’s wardrobes: It was the “First-ever Embedded Late Night TV Performance.” http://stereogum.com/649141/glasser-brings-mirrorage-to-fallon/video/
