Kiwi is a graphical programming environment dedicated to music and sound creation, such as Max or Pure Data softwares, but offering a real-time collaborative approach: Kiwi allows several distant users to work simultaneously on the same patch hosted online.

Kiwi

Kiwi is part of the French ANR-funded MUSICOLL project that unites the CICM and OhmForce. The main goal of this project is to study how collaboration can enhance the way digital audio music composition is taught and more generally how it can renew music creation practices and improve its workflow. Download You can download the latest Kiwi application from the github repository. Compatibility Kiwi is compatible with the three main operating systems : Kiwi is only compatible with the 64 bit operating systems.

Serpent

Serpent was designed and implemented as a stand-alone, general purpose interpreter. Serpent is perhaps ideal as a game scripting language due to its real-time design and support for external C++ objects and C functions. It is open source, and I would be happy to share code as well as future design and development with others. Free Audio Editor and Recorder. The Garden of Dreams This musical and visual installation proposes to the visitors the interactive exploration of dreams coming from all over the world, in many different languages, recorded both on the Internet and at the two installation locations in New York and Lyon (France).

Computer Music Center at Columbia University

These dreams take part in a collective memory, which visitors of the installation can consult by traveling through oniric universes. On a website specially designed for this purpose, or in a “Dream Station” in another room of the exhibition’s building, one can video record herself/himself and share a dream.

Once the recording validated, this dream is integrated into the installation (see below for dates and locations). Association Française d'Informatique Musicale - AFIM. CCARH Homepage. MuseData Representation of Musical Information. The purpose of MuseData code is to represent the logical content of musical scores in a software-neutral fashion.

MuseData Representation of Musical Information

The code is currently being used in the construction of full-text databases of music for several composers, including J. S. Bach, Beethoven, Corelli, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Telemann, and Vivaldi. It is intended that these full-text databases be used for music printing, music analysis, and production of electronic sound files. Although MuseData code is intended to be generic, we have developed software of various kinds in order to test its effectiveness.

MuseData code is designed to represent both notational and sound information, but in both cases the representation is not intended to be fully complete. . (1) When we encode a musical work, what we are encoding is not the score itself but the logical content of the score. On the other hand, it sometimes can be helpful to make suggestions about how the graphics and the sound should be realized. OICCM : Observatoire international de la création et des culture. Computer Science Laboratory Paris » Music. : How to extract features from audio signals (such as music titles or sound samples) that are efficient for a given classification task ? Our team has pionneered the development of so-called “feature generation” techniques, in the audio domain. Feature generation consists in letting a system evolve features automatically, for a given classification problem, rather than relying on existing feature sets.

We have introduced the notion of as audio features consisting in mathematical compositions of elementary operators. The EDS system was designed to generate billions of these features and test them, to evolve efficient features and feature sets. We have shown that analytical features perform better than standard features on a series of well-known audio classification problems.
