Oh my little dears. On October 16th, I said good-bye to the wonderful world of being in my 20's and joined the 30 club!!

oh my little dears

The 20 decade was 10 great years of learning who I was, and I've felt so blessed to have had so many great opportunities, I can only image what the next 10 have in store. Back in September, Jessica and I attend SCRAP FEST at the MOA. I left so inspired. Inspired to create, and to create for others who may not have that pretty in their life, or who may need a pick me up. I am not a 12x12 scrapbook page maker. Our church has been studying and focusing on giving back to others and after reading the book seven by Jen Hatmaker, I wanted to do something different on my birthday. We started our road trip with one main direction. Once we hit the gas and drove away, we turned around in a driving school parking lot, where a drivers ed car was parked. Next we headed towards the grocery store where we placed 4 random candy bars along with their tag on the car windshield.

Col. Chris Hadfield. A Beautiful Mess. A year and a half ago we signed a bunch of papers and unlocked the door to our 100-year-old, yellow house for the very first time.

A Beautiful Mess

It's been a trip. If you would have asked me on that day how long I thought it would take to get everything "decorated" I would have said three months. Our closing date was in August, and I was pretty sure that by Christmas it would be perfect. I have friends and family with "finished" homes. They moved in, decorated for a couple weeks, and have lived there happily for many years without so much as moving a picture frame. Fast forward a year and a half, and I'll tell you one thing I know for sure—nothing is ever perfect. Unrealistic expectations? Today I'm here to share what I've learned from this 100-year-old yellow house and this past year and a half of in-progress living. 1.

Here's what I mean. As the years went by I started to understand my look a little more. Houses are the same way. Your home has its own set of strengths and weaknesses. 2. Nerdy Day Trips. Add Your Day Trip Once you're happy with your pin position, you can save it to the map for everyone to see.
