Two jumps and a week I bet you think that's pretty clever, don't you boy Flying on your motorcycle Watching all the ground beneath you drop Kill yourself for recognition Kill yourself to never ever stop You broke another mirror You're turning into something you are not Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Drying up in conversation You will be the one who cannot talk All your insides fall to pieces You just sit there wishing you could still make love They're the ones who'll hate you When you think you've got the world all sussed out They're the once who'll spit at you You'll be the one screaming out It's the best thing that you ever had, The best thing you ever, ever had It's the best thing that you ever had, The best thing you have had is gone away Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Don't leave me high, Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry.

Sunset Rubdown - Three Colours Lyrics. Sunset Rubdown - A Day In The Graveyard II Lyrics. Sunset Rubdown - Coming To At Dawn Lyrics. Obliterate the memory of coming to at dawn knowing only that the night was someplace that you had gone and the amber waves on the showboat of laughter and you cannot change the way you slid down railings in the lobby and then again down the gangway shortly after obliterate the memory of coming to at dawn knowing only that the night has gone obliterate the grass stains from the cloth you were only in the grassy fields to pick a hollyhock you want to stick it to the stem again by fusing up the atoms and then believe that it will live again just from the power of your refusing to believe it cannot happen obliterate the memory of coming to at dawn knowing only that the night has gone obliterate the memory of coming to at dawn knowing only that the night has gone.

Sunset Rubdown - Insane Love Is Awakening Lyrics. Insane love is awakening, that's what they said in a movie, that's what they said in a movie. It was a movie with dancing, it was a movie with dancing and the red-chested singing of golden voices making their turquoise announcements of love. Ask them or not the name of this world, that's what they said in a movie, that's what they said in a movie. And I can only assume, I can assume only that the answer was blue or I can only assume that the answer was green and blue.

Insane love is awakening, that's what they said in a movie, that's what they said in a movie. They said, 'Ask them or not the name of this world.' Or I can only assume that the answer was white and phrased in a riddle in the shape of pure light issued from a killer draped in blue silk flashing silver. Or I can only assume that the answer was white and phrased in a riddle in the shape of pure light, issued from a killer draped in blue silk flashing silver. The Naked And Famous - Girls Like You Lyrics. Whirlwind run Further and further away Into the sun In, 20 minutes Everyone will remember you when you're gone And your heart, is a stone Buried underneath your pretty clothes Don't you know people write songs about girls like you? What will you do when something stops you? What will you say to the world? What will you be when it all comes crashing Down on you little girl?

What would you do if you lost your beauty? How would you deal with the light? How would you feel if nobody chased you? What if it happened tonight? How would you cope it the world decided to Make you suffer for all that you were? Don't you know people write songs about girls like you? Everything you say is higher All the things that make you lighter Everything you say is higher See it in the grey you crier Don't you know people write songs about girls like you?

"The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You." Jobriath. Jobriath (Bruce Wayne Campbell December 14, 1946, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – August 3, 1983), was an American country rock and glam rock musician and actor.[1] He was the first openly gay rock musician to be signed to a major record label, and one of the first internationally famous musicians to die of AIDS. Biography[edit] Early life & career[edit] Jerry Brandt, the hype and Jobriath Boone[edit] In mid-December 1972 Jerry Brandt, Carly Simon's former manager, overheard a demo tape being played by Clive Davis at Columbia Records. Davis rejected the tape as "mad, unstructured and destructive to melody", but Brandt was quick to step in. Jobriath later remarked "that coming from a man who discovered both Patti Smith and Barry Manilow...so much for sanity and structure! " During this period, Brandt continued making extravagant statements such as "Elvis, the Beatles, and Jobriath" and declaring that both he and Jobriath had booked flights on Pan American's first passenger flight to the moon.

Ben Cooper (musician) Ben Cooper is a singer/songwriter from Jacksonville, Florida. He is currently a member of Electric President with Alex Kane, Radical Face (formerly known as Radical Face Versus Phalex Sledgehammer), Iron Orchestra (alongside his brother), Mother's Basement and Unkle Stiltskin and can be found on certain music websites as well. Ben grew up in a family of nine siblings and states his family as his biggest influence.

His creative streak originated from a passion for drawing and painting early on, and by middle school he had begun making short movies with friends and playing music. Cooper met Alex Kane in 2000 in a band called Helicopter Project when asked to replace the lead singer of the band, and the two have worked together on various projects since. Most of Ben Cooper's tracks are reportedly recorded in a tool shed outside his house. In 2011, Ben Cooper released a new album under the alias 'Patients'. He also owns digital design company "The Lazy Eye" The Violent Blue. Ben Cooper's original intent for the album was for it to be a collection of B-sides from the 'Sleep Well' sessions - though it ended up taking the shape of a whole record themed around the ocean.

The album's title stems from Cooper's name for the sea - 'The Violent Blue'. The record also shows a change in production style for the band.[1] Track listing[edit] "The Ocean Floor" - 5:03"Mr. Gone" - 3:05"Safe And Sound" - 4:07"Feathers" - 3:23"Nightmare No. 5 or 6" - 5:47"The Violent Blue" - 4:14"Circles" - 4:12"Elegant Disasters" - 4:30"Eat Shit and Die" - 3:09"All the Distant Ships" - 8:38 Notes[edit] Styrofoam (musician) Radical Face. Einstein Music Journal. Experimental punk purveyors Xiu Xiu release their eighth album on March 6. Sole constant band member Jamie Stewart opens up about what drives his impressive productivity, why the band is in such fine form and some of the creative partnerships that have fed into it throughout its 10 years.

Hi! How are you doing? Stressed out! Too much work right now, but it’s all music. One must be careful what they wish for. You’re on tour soon – how does it feel to be setting out on the road again? Xiu Xiu is 10 years old this year! Do you deliberately set out to make confrontational music or is it just what comes naturally? You seem to have acquired a lot of awesome gear over the years. “God, I spent so much money on gear last year it makes me want to throw up. Xiu Xiu has always seemed quite prolific. Do you write all of Xiu Xiu’s lyrics or are they sometimes collaborative efforts? With Dear God, I Hate Myself you’ve said you were documenting sad life. Xiu Xiu’s music always feels quite isolated.

Xiu Xiu: The Failed Experiment. I want you to boycott Xiu Xiu. And you, the reader, are most likely thinking, “Great. Another asshole complaining about dissonance in pop music, or about the shocking content of Jamie Stewart’s lyrics.” For the record, I love dissonance in pop music. I love dissonance outside of pop music. Now that that’s out of the way, I want you to boycott Xiu Xiu. This is the cover art of Xiu Xiu’s A Promise. In an interview with a popular indie music website, Jamie Stewart said that he took the picture himself on a trip to Asia. No, it isn’t. Did any of the proceeds from the record go to this guy? Did Jamie Stewart sympathize with this guy because he was forced by circumstance into being a prostitute? Would you pay your best friend to go to a foreign country and take a snapshot of a discarded human before discarding that human again?

Further, the cover art’s mindless provocation also underpins much of the musical and lyrical content on Xiu Xiu’s albums. Grouper (musician) Grouper is the solo project of musician and artist Liz Harris, of Oregon. Harris’ first album was 2005’s Grouper, a self-released full-length CD-R, followed later that year by Way Their Crept on Free Porcupine (re-released in 2007 on Type Records). Other recordings include 2006's He Knows, released as a 3" CD, the 12" Weird Forest release Wide in 2007, and a 7" called Tried. She released a collaboration album with Xiu Xiu in 2006, entitled Creepshow. Harris released her third full-length album, Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill, in 2008. Early in 2012, Grouper performed Violet Replacement in the UK and Europe, a pair of longform tape collage pieces which originally took shape for commissioned performances in New York and Berkeley.

At Berlin's Club Transmediale festival in early February of 2012 Harris premiered a new work called Circular Veil in collaboration with Jefre Cantu-Ledesma--seven hours of music, designed to mimic one full sleep cycle. Creepshow, CD and LP. Official website. The Silver Gymnasium. The Silver Gymnasium is the seventh album by American indie rock band Okkervil River, released on September 3, 2013. It is the band's first release after signing to ATO Records, and their first album not released through Jagjaguwar. Overview[edit] The Silver Gymnasium was first announced in June 2013, its name revealed letter-by-letter via the band's website.[1] The record is a concept album which takes place in lead-singer Will Sheff's home-town of Meriden, New Hampshire in 1986.

Sheff conceived the album as a tribute to the spirit of pre-adolescence, meant to evoke the nostalgic feeling of, in his words “an action figure you found in the woods.”[2] The album's title is taken from the Charles Lewis Silver Memorial Gymnasium found in Meriden's Kimball Union Academy, the boarding school which Sheff attended.[3] Critical reception[edit] At Alternative Press, Chris Parker called the album "Often dark, but strangely triumphant. Formed in 1998, the band takes its name from a short story by Russian author Tatyana Tolstaya.

They self-released their first album, Stars Too Small to Use, which led them to the South by Southwest music festival. After recording their first album in a garage, they signed with Jagjaguwar. Okkervil River continued by releasing four more albums, including the critically lauded concept album Black Sheep Boy.[1] After a period of touring for Black Sheep Boy, Okkervil River followed up with The Stage Names. Okkervil River released the album The Stand Ins on 9 September, 2008.
