Nail Nerd » Starry Night Nails. Nail Nerd » Snowy Dream Nails. As a Rocky Mountain-raised girl there’s a part of me — a very small, infrequently charged part — that sees all of the winter snowstorm reports flying around and misses a really good blizzard.

Especially at night. There was something so beautifully quiet as a kid, laying in bed with the window shades drawn up to watch fat white flakes drift past. It made the world sparkle and felt a little magical, and while I don’t miss a lot of the grown up stuff about snow (shoveling, heating bills, wrecking shoes and asses) I’m crazy nostalgic right now for a silent snowy night. So I made my own, dangit! Nail Nerd » Cool Colored Marble Nails. Finally, victory!!!

I picked out the red-to-blue spectrum and used Color Club Youthquake, Psychedelic Scene, Volt of Light, Feelin’ Groovy and Chelsea Girl. Nail Nerd » Cotton Candy Sponge Nails. I can’t put my finger on why exactly but these totally reminded me of junior high; maybe it’s the pastels, I don’t know.

Anyway! The base on this was Essie Miss Matched but that quickly got randomly sponged over with love & beauty Sky Blue, Wet n Wild FuchsiaRama, Color Club Vintage Couture and Wet n Wild Blazed til I eventually stopped. It’s sort of like a reverse galaxy nail, minus any thought of pattern or glitter.
