Maria Bamford (born September 3, 1970) is an American stand-up comedian and voice actress . She is best known for her portrayal of her dysfunctional family and self-deprecating comedy involving jokes about depression and anxiety. Her comedy style is surreal , and incorporates voice impressions of various character types. [ edit ] Early life Bamford was born at the naval base in Port Hueneme, California , where her father Joel was serving as a Navy doctor. She grew up there and in Duluth, Minnesota , where she attended Chester Park Elementary and The Marshall School .
Martha Payne, a 9-year-old who attends Lochgilphead Primary school in western Scotland, was dismayed by the lack of healthy options available in her school's cafeteria. So she started a blog called Never Seconds, where she posted photos of each day's congealed lasagna wedge along with a short review and miscellaneous adorable commentary (sample: "I went for chicken fajita. I'd really like to know where the chicken comes from so I am going to write to the lady in charge to ask. I know it comes from a hen but I'd like to know where the hen lived").
After getting back from Flipside I took the week off blogging; as it was, I had to go right back to work editing MyFDL on Firedoglake . That meant I had to put off the usual post-Flipside energy crash. Somehow I got through last week so that I could collapse Friday night and sleep through the weekend.
