Economy of culture « European Expert Network on Culture (EENC) Frédéric Gimello-Mesplomb is a researcher and an academic working as a Director of the Master programme in Mediation and Cultural Expertise and an Associate Professor of Film Studies and Cultural Economics at the University of Lorraine.
Frédéric works in the area of political economy of cultural industries and socio-economy of culture and media. His research engages with questions of cultural evaluation and classification, and processes of legitimation of films and filmmakers within the public support system. From 2000 to 2004 he was researcher for the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), and from 2003 he is an expert for the European Commission (DG Research and DG Education & Media). Additionally Frédéric is an Adjunct Professor at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences-Po) and a coordinator of the European Master in Arts, Culture and International Management (EMACIM).
