IMF Executive Board Concludes 2015 Article IV Consultation with the United Kingdom

The UK economy has been growing steadily. Economic recovery has been driven by robust expansion of private domestic demand and has supported rapid job growth, with the unemployment rate falling to 5.1 percent in late 2015. Looking forward, growth looks set to continue, averaging around 2.2 percent over the medium term. Inflation, which is currently very low (0.3 percent in January 2016), is expected to rise slowly as disinflationary effects from past commodity price falls and sterling appreciation dissipate, and as wages increase. Policies have been directed to supporting growth, while strengthening public finances and promoting financial stability.

Your company’s mission statement is your opportunity to define the company’s goals, ethics, culture, and norms for decision-making. The best mission statements define a company’s goals in at least three dimensions: what the company does for its customers, what it does for its employees, and what it does for its owners. Some of the best mission statements also extend themselves to include fourth and fifth dimensions: what the company does for its community, and for the world. Crowdsourcing Contests. At a recent reception, the young bride and groom ditched the DJ/band expense in favor of an iPod. There was no “Shout” or “Electric Slide” or James Taylor. Instead, the playlist was a soundtrack to the last decade—and it was great. All right, so maybe it wasn’t ideal for the non-millennials. Watching retirees swing dance to “All The Small Things” reminded me of the embarrassing disconnect some brands have with the millennial demographic. Here's the "on fleek" way to get millennials excited about your brand. 2. Choosing the right business structure. Unless it’s part of the business plan to raise significant funds on the stock exchange within a defined period, you probably won’t want to start off as a public limited company (PLC), so it’s a four-way crossroad: become a sole trader, form a partnership, or incorporate a limited liability company or partnership (LLP) at Companies House. There are other models, including Community Interest Companies and co-operatives, offshore companies and franchises, but here we will focus on the most commonly chosen routes.
