Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and Wales An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is an area of countryside considered to have significant landscape value in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, that has been specially designated by Natural England on behalf of the United Kingdom government; Natural Resources Wales (formerly the Countryside Council for Wales) on behalf of the Welsh Government; or the Northern Ireland Environment Agency on behalf of the Northern Ireland Executive.
THE NATURAL BEAUTY The primary purpose of the AONB designation is to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the landscape, with two secondary aims: meeting the need for quiet enjoyment of the countryside and having regard for the interests of those who live and work there. To achieve these aims, AONBs rely on planning controls and practical countryside management. Castles of Snowdonia.

Abstract and semi-abstract textile art pictures, using wool and other fibres (especially metallic thread or fabric), sometimes with uneven edges and utilising a very wide palette of colours. Most of the pieces - the fine, translucent, 'Floating Felts' - are framed by sandwiching between sheets of 4mm-thick clear acrylic sheet, fastened with small brass bolts and hung from nylon line. They are ideally hung slightly away from the wall, giving a feeling of floating in three dimensions. The wall behind need not be white, since the piece will 'interact' with the wall colour behind.
Spotlights bring a vibrancy to the pictures, by reflecting off metallic, or other shiny, elements in them.
