SOFTER - Forprene. Forprene® is a Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) and more precisely, it is a Vulcanised Thermoplastic Elastormer (TPV).
It is made up of an elastomeric phase (dynamically vulcanised EPDM), which is deeply dispersed in a polyolefinic thermoplastic matrix, whose combination determines a real plasto-elastomeric alloy characterised by high performances and extremely easy processability. Its thermoplastic matrix allows Forprene® to be processed in an easy and unexpensive way by means of traditional technologies used for thermoplastic materials and to be fully recyclable whereas its elastomeric phase features typically rubber-like specifications such as elastic recovery and softness. The extensive Forprene® family product features an exceptionally wide range of specifications in just one single product: Coupling with other polymeric materials Forprene® is particularly suitable for co-moulding and co-extrusion with polypropylene (PP) and its compounds. Evoprene™ The EvopreneTM range of thermoplastic elastomer compounds was first formulated over 25 years ago.
Since then the range has been continually developed, revised and refined so that today’s compounds are available to meet demanding requirements in nearly all areas of our lives – from parts for appliances, automobiles and consumer products, through gaskets, seals and fittings for construction to regulated areas such as baby products, toys, food and medical components. Most EvopreneTM Compounds are based on styrene block copolymers (SBCs), either hydrogenated – H-SBC – (SEBS – styrene-ethylene butylenes-styrene or similar) or non hydrogenated (SBS – styrene-butadiene-styrene) or alloys of these and other compatible polymers.
Various thermoplastics, process oils, fillers and stabilisers are compounded in high shear mixing equipment to produce a wide range of grades. All EvopreneTM TPE compounds are pelletised and packaged in pe sacks or in bulk containers. Dryflex. Riteflex® TPE-E. Pellethane® TPE - Medical & HealthCare - The Lubrizol Corporation. Thermoplastic Polyester Elastomer. Hytrel® combines the flexibility of rubber with the strength and processability of thermoplastics. DuPontTM Hytrel® TPC-ET thermoplastic elastomer is a versatile copolyester. It combines resilience, and heat and chemical resistance with strength and durability. Parts made with Hytrel® thermoplastic elastomer resin can flex in multiple directions, cycle after cycle, long after rubber would break. A prime example is the Constant Velocity Joint (CVJ) boot, an automotive component that is subject to an average of 150,000 miles of pounding, and a wide range of temperatures.
Hytrel® is an excellent choice when innovative new designs require creation of unique parts with multiple performance characteristics, since it can be processed using many thermoplastic methods. ENGAGE Polyolefin Elastomers. When you need a modifier that will help to make your product tough and resilient while flexible at the same time, ENGAGE™ Polyolefin Elastomers are the answer.
ENGAGE™ provides exceptional performance with an unmatched balance of properties. As one of the first polymers to use INSITE™ technology, the innovative polymer serves as a bridge between rubber and plastic to inspire new design possibilities. Applications: Auto interior modifier for excellent feel Wire and cable coatings with enhanced physical properties Footwear foams that are light and deliver excellent resiliency and cushioning to the shoe Molded goods such as toys or other household items Injection molding with better thermal stability and heat resistance Improved impact resistance and low temperature performance in thermoplastic polyolefins, such as TPO roofing and automotive bumper fascia.
