It seems to me that the ages 17 to 22 are all about getting used to change and saying goodbye. Sure a couple of graduations, hopefully a few jobs, and a whole lot of loans happen as well but most importantly you learn how to embrace change and move on (and pray to god you move up). The other day I found myself in a restaurant with a combination of people that hadn't been together since around the time we were celebrating our new driver's licenses.

Everyone had arrived by today except for 4 people whose connecting flight in Denver got delayed due to a snow storm. We all met upstairs in the breakfast area where we met Frank, our main instructor, Sofia and Eric who teach other parts of the course. Frank is American but has been living in Costa Rica for the past 20 years.

I’m always trying to keep my spin classes interesting with different routines. This week, we have been doing the “20-20-20” routine, which involves 20 minutes of endurance training, followed by 20 minutes of resistance (hill work), and finishing the hour class with 20 minutes of speed and intervals. To make it way more fun I devoted each 20 minutes to a specific decade of music.

11:30 Busy season party with a tailgate party then baseball game at the Coliseum! I hate baseball though and luckily am friends with several other coworkers who also have no interest in baseball, so after an acceptable amount of socializing with coworkers… In a short sweet summary, the past two weeks of my life have included: driving to SoCal, eating within Club 33 in Disneyland, eating Sweet Rose Creamery mint ice cream in LA which I may possibly like more than Ici’s, new housemate, midnight Avengers showing, Los Gatos exploring with Laura, Las Trampas hiking with Kathy, Wombats concert with Kristen on a Monday night, found a good youtube video of The Shins performing New Slang in Santa Cruz which is one of my fav concerts yet… Basically, I NEED TO STOP SPENDING MONEY and EAT IN because I need to lose weight before I go on vacation!!!!!!!!!!!! Which I have yet to plan at all.Before I read this play someone jokingly described it to me as a Latino Mary Poppins. As. If. I really respect playwrights who can discuss difficult subject matter and human situations without soap boxing their opinion or falling into cliche. Wow.
