This item does just that. Pour your cup of water into the top, put your empty cup under the spout, and 30 seconds later your cup refills with near boiling water. For me, I prefer this to those dispensers that come with tanks, as you are always adding fresh water each time - no need to wash out tanks full of stale water. Also, it is so fast. Was a little apprehensive as reviews for this on Amazon were few - I assume because this is a new line they are carrying. The plum colour is classy and not nearly as blue as the picture shows, it's a nice shade of deep purple. The stainless steel is also very nice, especially compared to the Breville that had a plastic bodied water tank. This looks and feels like a quality product. In use it's very simple, fill the water tank, set the cup size and press a button. Under the nozzle there are two LED lights which illuminate the cup - a nice touch - although in a bright kitchen these will not be noticed too much. In the end, I opted for a normal kettle instead at that time. I'd read that 'rapid boil one cup' -type kettles were fast, but that they didn't actually get the water quite hot enough to make great tea.
