I SPY DIY Video: Printed Towels. MY DIY | Printed Towel. I gotta say, I love projects like this because it’s so easy, makes a big impact, and the process is supa dupa fun. It’s essentially grown-up finger painting, and you get to display them just like you did as a kid! It’s also a great project when you just can’t find that perfect pattern to match your kitchen. I mixed & matched prints, but a set in the same style would really look great hanging from your oven, right? Steps & a video tutorial after the break! Diy copper + wood paper towel holder. A paper towel holder is always an afterthought for me. case in point – i’ve been wanting to DIY one for a year now. but the other day when i deep cleaned the kitchen for the first time in months, i noticed how gross and rusty ours was – i headed out to the hardware store that day. this project is SUPER easy to make, but you need some good tools and some arm strength or some boyfriend. a piece of wood (we got this birch in the precut section of the hardware store) copper pipe copper cap industrial strength glue drill spade bit (we used 7/8″) miter box hacksaw wood conditioner (optional) ONE // determine your shape and size. i simply used the hexagon shape tool in photoshop and printed it onto cardstock at around 7″ wide. you can also just draw it. carefully cut out your shape and trace it onto your wood with a pencil.

FOUR // using a paper towel roll as your measurement, cut down your copper pipe with your hacksaw. cap it off. DIY: Friendship Bracelet chevron rug. You know how friendship bracelets are totally back? Well, I can't quite bring myself to get into it after 15 years but I love the bright colors, the patterns, the idea of it....It got me thinking where else I could apply the process and I thought it'd be fun to make a huge friendship bracelet that you could walk on. You know, given my love of all things oversized. After multiple attempts I came up with this rug for the new Chalkboard Magazine (it's awesome. Check it out here). Any other size is too thick to actually use. Materials: 2 sets of 5 colors of fabric, 8-10" wide and 3 meters long; scissors, needle, thread, tape Step 5: With the first piece, move onto the next piece of fabric (yellow here) and repeat the process. Step 8: Go onto the next row (the dark blue) and repeat the process.

Step 9: Work until you’ve finished your desired length. Step 14: Voila! Photography by Liv Colliander. Elephant Succulent Planter DIY. You may remember my glitter animals from Kalia's 2nd birthday party. Well, even a glitter lover like me did not want glittered animals hanging out at the house, perfect for Kalia's party- not perfect for my home. I donated most to Goodwill, but I kept the little creamer elephant because he was my favorite. Just two weeks ago, I finally knew what I would use him for, I first had to remove the glitter, which was a big pita (pain in the a-s-s) My method of glitter not shedding may be a bit too good. I removed the glitter just with hot water, soap and good old fashioned scrubbing (scrubbed for-EVER- hence the pita part) and he was returned to his former thrifted glory: Of course, I needed to change that and spray painted him white.

And then I added a succulent. Perfect. And no worries, you can do this at home without finding a cute little elephant creamer at the thrift store. Anthropologie- sells them! DIY: Necklace Holder. I found this genius idea to get my necklaces organized from and I thought I'd give it a go. 1. You will need a flat board to attach your knobs unto. You can be creative with this. I got 4 out of my 5 knobs from our local habitat for humanity store for less than $1.00. 2. 3. 4. And now my necklaces are officially organized! See how I organized my earrings here. xo. HOW TO: MACRAME DREAMER.

11th February 2014 I’ve been a big fan of Ouchflower for some time now, ever since I discovered Pippa’s tasseled pieces on pinterest and tracked down her website. I was immediately taken with the bright colours and intricate knots, her dipped rope tassels and spiralled macrame had me immediately dreaming of beach shacks and long laid back days. For me, designs like these are so much more than simply craft, they’re pieces of artwork.

Every DIYers dream – to have craft that belongs in a gallery! A little while ago Pippa offered to show me how she creates her beautiful macrame dreamers, and you know I jumped at the chance to see her at work. DIY Nautical Drawer Pulls If you’ve never switched out the hardware on your drawers, you’re missing out. There are tons of glam options, of course- you’ve probably seen several ideas at Anthropologie! Luckily, drawer pulls are super simple to pick up at any hardware store and even easier to customize!

My bathroom is the epitome of a “rental”: a couple dings in the enamel sink, a vanity that doesn’t match the mirrored medicine cabinet, a curtain rod that was installed backward so that the shower curtain rings catch when you try to close them. On the plus side, the room gets tons of light and is in great shape and mostly white. To get started, assemble your supplies: - drawer pull (a set which comes with the wooden knob and the correct size screw) - Sharpie Paint Pen (in White) - acrylic paint (in Navy) - Mod Podge - assorted brushes (at least one with a fine tip and one foam brush) Now, get started by using the white paint pen to draw on the anchor shape.

Alex and I have always wanted to try out the permanent marker on mug DIY that we’ve seen around the internet for the past few years. It looked like such an easy and fun way to personalize a tea/coffee cabinet! Guess what? It IS easy, fun, and (extra bonus) cheap! Our initial take on the mug was to draw animal faces (a cat, dog, bunny, and beaver) from the nose down so that we could feel particularly cute while we sipped from them.

I love how they turned out! Making the mugs was so easy.Step 1: Buy mugs to draw on. We got our mugs from the dollar store because all we needed was a plain ceramic canvas for our design. Step 3: Pick a design and start drawing on your mug. We had a few extra mugs left over and I decided to make a completely different mug (hehe). Hope you enjoyed these simple DIY mugs! I have a new DIY project to share today: fabric covered boxes perfect for storing keepsakes or office supplies.

I love the idea of wrapping plain boxes in pretty patterns (like I did last year these marbled paper versions) and this time I made them with some beautiful fabrics sent to me by Annie Selke from her Pine Cone Hill collection. Here is the step by step: First, round up the necessary supplies. You’ll need about ½ yard of fabric for every box, sometimes more for larger versions. Next, cut the fabric to the size of the box and allow for enough fabric to wrap all fours sides.

With your staple gun, secure the first long side of the box with a few staples inside and close to the middle. Apply a thin coat of glue to the bottom of the box and smooth the fabric as you rotate it around so that it lays flat along the bottom. Staple the second side along the interior of the box, concentrating the staples toward the middle.

Travel Memory Map DIY. Jun 3 This Travel Memory Map is a gift I’ve been wanting to give to Paul to keep track of our travels. I grew up in a house with a giant map on the wall of our den and love having a map around to show my kids where everything is. It’s really easy to personalize and celebrate all the places you’ve been together. I used push pins to attach mini photos of every location our family has visited around the world. And, the best part is – we can keep adding to it and tracking our travel memories for years to come. Materials: Spray Adhesive, Push Pins, Scissors, World Map, Large Piece of Foamcore, Printed Mini Travel Photos (Including Location Name & Date) Step 1: Cut foamcore down so that it’s the same dimensions as your map.

DIY Ping Pong Ball Cafe Lights. Right now Edie sleeps with us in our bedroom. Sometimes she actually sleeps with us in bed in a LulyBoo (love that portable thing) and other times she sleeps in this cradle above in the corner by the door to the sunroom where the rest of her nursery is (see the full nursery tour here). Because this is a small space I wanted to make it special and thought some colorful cafe lights might do the trick!

Did you know you can make these cafe lights from a strand of LED lights and ping pong balls? It will cost you about $16 with plenty of extra ping pongs to spare for another strand. The LED part is crucial- don’t use regular twinkle lights. Crossbody DIY tote from a placemat. DIY - FLOWER CROWN. - BLEUBIRD BLOG. I love flowers and i love flower crowns even more. i'm going to show you how to make your own in just a few simple steps. perfect for a special occasion, a wedding or if you just want to feel pretty. this project costs around $15, but you can make several crowns so the cost is actually much lower. you can make a few different head pieces for yourself or make one for a friend. here's what you need... you can find all of these materials at your local craft store. i suggest buying high end fabric or silk flowers for a more realistic looking head piece. step one: create a circle that fits comfortably around your head, that is easy to take on and off. i tripled the amount of wire and then wraped a fourth time around to make it extra sturdy. step two: cut your first bloom and place it in the desired direction on the crown. using a small 4 inch piece of wire, wrap the bloom tightly with wire to the circle with pliers.
