This is the time of year that we think about activities that we can do to help students review the school year. At this time of the year I start to get a lot of requests for suggestions for tools to create review activities. Here are twelve good options. Video-based review activities:Blubbr is a neat quiz creation service that you can use to create video-based quizzes.

Using Blubbr you can create interactive quizzes that are based on YouTube clips. EduCanon offers a free service for creating, assigning, and tracking your students' progress on flipped lessons. eduCanon allows teachers to build flipped lessons using YouTube and Vimeo videos, create questions about the videos, then assign lessons to their students. VideoNotes is a neat tool for taking notes while watching videos. Games-based review activities:Purpose Games is a free service that allows users to create custom games, share games, and play games. What happens to students who do not have access to digital tools or computers at home? Can we offer students the support and instruction they need to develop 21st century skills? Yes we can. I didn’t grow up with computers like today’s students did, but I’m very much on board with becoming more tech savvy and, yes, even accepting help from my students when I have technical difficulties. About a year ago I bought myself an iPad after saving for it for months. It was going to help me organize my life, both at home and at school, and guess what? It did. I love my iPad and I can’t see myself living without it. The first tool I use is DropBox and you don’t have to have an iPad to use it.

DropBox is a way to store your documents “in the cloud” so that you have access to them wherever you are. I cannot tell you how liberating it was for me to kick my jump drive to the curb. I also don’t have the problem of having some files on my computer at home and some on my computer at school. Imagine! One app I use is Teacher Assistant.
