Alphabet Madness Age/Level: Elementary and above Time: 20 minutes Players: Teams of 4-5 Preparation: None Aim: To make sentences using words beginning with a particular letter This fun vocabulary game helps your students improve their speaking skills and sentence structure. Procedure Divide the class into teams of four to five students.

Give each team a number or letter and write them up on the board. Tell the class that they have to make sentences using words beginning with a supplied letter. Teams receive one point for each word that uses the given letter written on the board. Give the students an example as follows. Example: The letter M “My mother makes my morning meal.” (6 points) When you write a random letter on the board, make sure the students raise their hand before they speak. The student must say a grammatically correct sentence or no points are awarded.

Once points have been awarded, move on to another letter. At the end of the game, tally up the points to see which team is the winner.
