Beyond Listening: Ninja Tune Launches Ninja Jamm, Opens Artists to Mobile Remix [CDM Exclusive] What if you could do more than just consume music as a passive listener? It’s a question that has fascinated musicians ever since the dawn of digital technology. Now, a very big label is releasing an app that provides an answer to that question. Ninja Tune – and, crucially, founder Matt Black of Coldcut – are going to mobile platforms with an app that does far more than simple remixing. It can let you radically transform some of Ninja’s artists, even going in a direction that might be considered instrumentalism.

CDM contributor Matt Earp has been quiet in these parts in the last months partly because he was contributing to the project. And don’t miss the making-of video; the final app as it ships is built in OpenFrameworks and libpd. Venerable independent UK electronic music label Ninja Tune have launched Ninja Jamm, their first music remix app, in collaboration with London-based arts and technology firm Seeper. Matt Black on the app’s inception and what’s under the hood: Software.

Puredata. Paresys Accueil Home. Pure Programming Language. Pmpd - Cyrille Henry. Pmpd is a library for Pure Data allowing the synthesis of control data through the means of particular physics modelling. This library can be used to model different types of behaviours. It can help reproducing natural behaviours for the audio/video synthesis control for example. Pmpd can also be used for signal treatment, notably for the real time use of sensors. A virtual physical structure can be manipulated through the sensors’ information. The state of this structure representing the signal treated by the physical model. Pmpd has been used for many installations and performances. Pmpd was ported to Max/MSP par Ali Momeni Abstractions for Max by Mathieu Chamagne pmpd for SuperCollider by Paul Crabbe Thanks to Anthony Palomba, pmpd is now compiled for windows Max/MSP Documentation pmpd-09-libdir-Linux32-i386-pd042 pmpd-010-libdir-linux64-darwin pmpd-010-libdir-linux32.
