http://amazingwomenrock.com/it-2 As we embrace the fullness of who we are as individuals, we may find ourselves supporting other women, helping others to reach the level of inner comfort and outer freedom that we ourselves have found.... Among those who are less sure of themselves and their place in the world, it may be more common to criticize other women than to seek their help.

This is an edited version of a speech I gave at the Association of Speakers Clubs (ASC) South-East England District Final Contest on 18 March 2012. I am very grateful to Claudia Crawley, of Winning Pathways Coaching, who made me her ‘Page 1 Woman of the week’ for speaking up at the 'Power to Achieve' event. I have a limited number of tickets (at a much reduced price) available to people who want to attend a future Andy Harrington life-transforming event - please contact me: delilah.mj[at]gmail.com

The Women's Budget Group ( WBG ) is an independent organisation bringing together individuals from academia, non-governmental organisations and trades unions to promote gender equality through appropriate economic policy. In all our work, we ask the question: 'Where do resources go, and what impact does resource allocation have on gender equality?' The impact that government expenditure can have on women's everyday lives, especially women experiencing poverty, is of particular concern to us.
