A science graduate from Durham University, Dougal began his career as a copywriter at The Leith Agency, Edinburgh, before moving to London to begin directing at Blink. His music videos have been widely celebrated for their playful, charming flair, and he has worked with artists including Coldplay, Goldfrapp, The Streets, Bat For Lashes, Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal, and Jarvis Cocker. His commercials include Ikea, John Lewis, Three Mobile, Lurpak, Orange, BBC, Olympus, Stella Artois, Amnesty International, Weetabix and Heinz to name a few. Dougal's first advert for John Lewis, 'Never Knowingly Undersold', transcended its commercial purpose to become a widely talked-about part of popular culture.
His charming follow-ups for the brand have had great success - his latest, ‘Monty’s Christmas’, won the Grand Prix for Craft at the Cannes Lions. Jonathan Glazer - Academy Films. Jonathan first found fame for his revolutionary work on Radiohead’s ‘Street Spirit’ and Jamiroquai’s Multi-MTV award winning ‘Virtual Insanity’ video. However he is perhaps best known in commercials for 1999′s ground-breaking Guinness ‘Surfer’, which picked up 2 D&AD Black Pencils, a Gold at Cannes and the top spot at most of the other awards festivals that year. The film still tops many lists as one of the best commercials of all time. Guinness aside, he has made iconic commercial films for Wrangler, Stella Artois, Levis, Nike, Sony, VW and many others. His most recent work includes spots for Audi and Nike. In 2000 Jonathan directed Sexy Beast which was nominated for Best British Film by BAFTA.
Released in March 2014, his third feature, Under The Skin has received critical acclaim and been cited as a landmark film by some of the most well respected critics in the business.
