U.S.A. : Consumer & Home Office : EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM. EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM The EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM is a high performance, water-resistant, and ultra wide-angle Canon L-series lens. It has been specifically designed for improved edge-to-edge image quality that will meet the strict requirements of professional and high-end amateur photographers.
It features 3 high-precision aspherical lens elements, each of a different type: ground, replica and GMo for even better image quality than the original EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM. The circular aperture produces a beautiful and natural background blur when shooting at wider apertures. Other features include internal focusing, a ring type USM (Ultra Sonic Motor), and new AF algorithms for fast and quiet autofocusing. Sample Image MTF Charts. Zeiss 50mm f/1.4. April 2010 More Zeiss Reviews Introduction top Some years ago Zeiss licensed Kyrocera of Japan to use the name Zeiss on some lenses made for the Contax brand of cameras.
Contax went out of business in 2005, ending the need for these lenses. Zeiss decided to put these former Contax mount lenses in Nikon mounts instead, and that's how we get these ZF lenses. This lens is not made in Germany and it is not made in a Zeiss factory. Manual focus lenses went obsolete 20 years ago. It feels exactly like a third-party manual focus lens from the 1970s, and for good reason. Specifications top Name Zeiss calls this the Zeiss Planar T* f/1,4 50 mm ZF Optics 7 elements, 6 groups. A f8, même constat qu’à f5,6. 22€ - Merci. A full Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II VC Lens review is planned, but here is a quick lab-only review: Based on the quality-for-the-price ratio of the non-VC Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II Lens, I had very high hopes for the Tamron 17-50 VC.
Taking the good image quality of the non-VC 17-50 and adding vibration control to it sounded like a recipe for success to me. A recipe that should close the feature/benefits gap between it and the excellent Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens. Preliminary findings from lab-only testing have been somewhat disheartening however. You can see the image quality results in the ISO 12233 resolution chart link above. Basically, the Tamron 17-50 VC is reasonably sharp in the center at its constant wide open aperture of f/2.8. As is usually the case with a lens that does not deliver excellent image quality with a wide open aperture, stopping down the Tamron 17-50 VC results in a noticeable optical performance improvement.

The Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro Lens is a popular short-telephoto macro lens - Popular because of its modest size, good image quality, decent AF (autofocus) and reasonable price. Its small size and light weight make the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro Lens a non-burden to take with you. Build quality is decent though not quite as good as the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Lens' build. Above, from left to right, are the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Lens, Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro Lens, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens and Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Lens (for size comparison). The same lenses (sans Canon 24-70) are shown below extended to their maximum lengths. Obviously the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro Lens extends significantly during focusing - as much as 50% or 2" (50.8mm) at its 1:1 macro minimum focus distance setting.
The manual focusing ring is smooth and nicely sized. The above photo shows the AF/MF positions and the blue ring that indicates the MF position.
