Issues of concern to science and scientists are taken up for study and discussions at various fora of the Academy and recommendations are made. Two items currently under study are to improve the quality of Science education and teaching in the country, and access to scientific data of public interest. JNCASR is a place of nurturing Science among young students.
Besides hosting student programmes leading to Ph.D., a number of outreach activities are conducted, especially for aspiring students. Given the green and serene surroundings of the campus, it is indeed a place of pilgrimage for a Seeker of Truth. Eminent scientists from around the globe use this as an international hub. Several dignitaries have visited JNC in the past. These include Professor David Gross (Nobel Laureate in Physics), Professor Watson (Nobel laureate in Chemistry), Professor Ahmed Zewail (Nobel Laureate in Chemistry) and Dr. Saket Saurabh.
