Diagram: How the Air Force Response to Blogs « Web Strategy by J

http://www.web-strategist.com/blog/2008/12/31/diagram-how-the-air-force-response-to-blogs/ The Airforce has created a process flow diagram that indicates very succinctly how the Air Force can and should respond to blog posts, there’s a lot to learn from here, and for the most part, I try to follow these similar rules. The Airforce, well all military units across the globe come across criticism, so establishing a clear sense of communication guidelines. Thanks to Joey DeVilla for posting this , who learned of this from David Meerman Scott who was in contact with Capt. Faggard who’s involved with the Airforce’s social media team: Twitter , and a blogspot blog , (I’m surprised they don’t have their own blog on the airforce websites, so we’re going off David’s word that this is authentic) There’s a lot to be learned from this military diagram that can be applied to corporations or even your personal blogging efforts.

HOW TO: Measure Social Media ROI

Olivier Blanchard Basics Of Social Media Roi Defining Clear Goals As a standard formula, ROI is pretty basic, ROI = (X - Y) / Y, where X is your final value and Y is your starting value. In other words, if you invest $5 and get back $20, your ROI is (20 - 5) / 5 = 3 times your initial investment. In the financial sense, ROI is measured purely in the context of dollars and cents, however, the principles can really apply to any type of investment — monetary or not.

According to the Business Insider , Facebook is “‘Beating The S— Out Of Its Numbers’ Thanks To Zynga’s Virtual Goods.” I wanted to try to understand this new, emerging economy. It all starts when a user sees an ad on Facebook:

The new economy cdixon.org – chris dixon's blog

Last weekend I wrote about how the big social gaming companies are making hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue on Facebook and MySpace through games like Farmville and Mobsters. Major media can’t stop applauding the companies long enough to understand what’s really going on with these games. The real story isn’t the business success of these startups. It’s the completely unethical way that they are going about achieving that success.

Scamville: Zynga Says 1/3 Of Revenue Comes From Lead Gen And Oth

A big part of the debate about the lead gen scams plaguing Facebook and MySpace via social games is over how much money is being made on these “offers.” Zynga, by far the most successful at building and monetizing these games, is now telling us exactly how much – 1/3 of total revenues, according to Andrew Trader , a co-founder of Zynga: Andrew Trader, co-founder of Zynga, said the company makes about a third of its revenue from advertising and another third from virtual goods transactions. The last third comes from companies that provide commercial offers, trading Netflix memberships and marketing surveys for in-game cash.

It sports dual cameras – a 3.1MP autofocus guy on the backside and a VGA front-facing camera – 3.5mm headset jack, 802.11 b/g, GPS and acceleromter. A 528 MHZ ARM11 Jazelle powers the kit.
