Ear Taping Tutorial. Supplies needed: Backer Rod 1/2" diamater Bandage Scissors 1" Zonas Porous Tape GooGone [See bottom of page for instructions before taping] Step 1 Cut 2 pieces of rod 1 inch longer than the ear.

Spiral wrap rod with tape, when you reach the end, twist tape at the end of the rod and back wrap with sticky side of tape out. Step 2 Cut 5 strips of tape for each ear. Step 3 Clean and shave the inside of the ear before taping. Step 4 Pull the ear up taught and affix tip of ear to the rod, then press remainder of the ear to the rod from tip of ear to base. Step 5 Place the next to longest piece of tape on the rod at the ear fold. Step 6 Use the next two pieces of tape to wrap the rest of the ear. Step 7 Once all the tape is in place, cup the ear in your hand and press the tape against the ear. Step 8 Pull wrapped ear up taught. Step 8 continued.... Step 9 USE EXTREME CAUTION!!! When they are relaxed they are perfectly aligned with his eyes and don't fall towards the side of his head. Sometimes they actually lay on top of each other and it looks like he has a bow on his head. Would he be a good candidate for cropping? Or should we just accept that our Rocky just has his own 'look'. Sorry to be the one to have to tell you the bad news...you just missed the window of the 'ideal' cropping age for a Boxer. 2-3 months. How To Tape Dog Ears

It is very important to communicate to your vet that your puppies ears will heal twice as fast while on the Nzymes. This means the normal time for removing stitches will be drastically be reduced. You should NOT leave the stitches in the normal length of time, because they will become imbedded in the ear. We use Nzymes to speed healing and Oxy-Drops in a diluted solution (1 teaspoon Oxy-Drops + 1 cup of distilled water), sprayed on the edges to stop bacterial infections and to speed healing of the ears.
