Modify a generic USB car charger to charge a 3rd gen iPod Nano

I have a 3rd generation iPod Nano. It detects it's connected to but refuses to charge from a generic car->USB charge adapter, but I didn't fancy buying an adapter cable or yet another charger specifically for the iPod, so I modified one I already had. There's a chance that this could work for other USB devices (maybe an iPhone too, but I don't have one), but there's also a chance that this could fry your device, car, or perhaps eat all of the cheese in the house . http://www.instructables.com/id/Modify-a-generic-USB-car-charger-to-charge-a-3rd-g/

How To Make Your Own USB Car Charger For Any iPod Or Other Devic

Note: I have tested this only on an iPod Nano, but I would imagine that It would work for any iPod that charges via USB, or any device that charges over USB that uses a 5v source for charge. The basic idea here is to charge my Nano via USB while in the car. The total project cost for me was Free-99.
