Sunday, August 28, 2011 3:12 AM EDT Don't take your gun to class, son, says NVCC policy BY BRIGITTE RUTHMAN REPUBLICAN-AMERICAN WATERBURY — The attorney for a Torrington man charged with carrying a loaded handgun with him into a microbiology class at the Naugatuck Valley Community College on March 8 claims the college failed to notify students that weapons aren't allowed on campus. Michael Falls, 28, had a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver loaded with five rounds, in his jacket pocket that night. He left the jacket in a hallway between classes and forgot to pick it up. Another student found it and the gun and turned them in to authorities.
