#NewhouseIDSM Travels To Cannes Lions 2013 To Study International Social Media #CannesLions - Friday, June 14. Eight students from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and I will attend the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in Cannes, France, as part of the SUAbroad program International Digital & Social Media Platforms that I teach. In this innovative course, students will take a comprehensive look at international digital and social media platforms and best practices.
This is the second time this course has been offered and the second group from Syracuse University to attend Cannes Lions. The students and I departed on June 13 and will return on June 24. The new innovation category honours the technology and innovation which lead to the creative idea being possible. The creators of these top 25 Innovations representing 15 different countries presented to the jury and Cannes Lions audience. I also attended the Be On and RealEyes seminar on using Facial Recognition to score the emotional impact of marketing communications.
