Redwood City wants to help you create neighborhood projects, find opportunities to volunteer, and get inspired to join with others and build community together. When you're a Community Builder, you recognize that to do this, we can turn first of all to our neighbors and to local associations and institutions that lie at the heart of our communities. Multiple stages featuring a variety of Latin Music, including Salsa and Jazz, will fire up Redwood City with music and dancing all day long. Plus, this year we’ve expanded our cultural offering with an additional Reggae Stage. Amateur and professional Salsa Chefs will compete for fun, prizes and Salsa Glory, at the mouth watering and exciting Salsa Tasting & Competition, where the public takes part in the judging. Public tasting is from 12-5pm, but come early to be sure to sample the most popular! Music spread throughout downtown! The Arts & Olive Festival at Cañada College began in 1998 as part of Cañada’s 30 year anniversary celebration to benefit student scholarships.

The festival has since grown to be one of the largest scholarship fundraisers of the year providing much needed financial assistance to students. The celebration brings together more than 80 vendors consisting of some of the olive industry’s top experts to provide the community with olive education, olive and olive oil tasting, olive related products, and an abundance of quality art works and gifts. Cañada College has had a special relationship with olives since its inception. Many of the historic olive trees were naturalized from early California plantings and a group of trees were transplanted to the site following the Panama Pacific Exposition held in San Francisco in the early 1900’s.
