Wow it's been a crazy month since our last post. We went to the City of Rocks for climbing and then all heck broke loose with traveling. This post is a recount of our trip over the last week of August. We went to Oregon to visit Cassie's parent's and her grandmother.
Well, it's true. I am back in Australia and back in my own house. In the end, it was 11 months on the road. Climbing destinations included: Kalymnos (Greece), Geyikbayiri , Olympos (Turkey), Boulder , Rifle , Maple Canyon , Ten Sleep Canyon (all USA), Rodellar , Margalef , Arboli , Riglos (all Spain), Vietnam , Hong Kong , Yangshuo (China), & Railay (Thailand). Usually, my trips away are pretty short and sweet, so it's go go go the whole time and collapse when you get back home.

Before we head into the interior of the mountainous Sinai peninsula, we will spend a day or so on the bolted routes at Wadi Gnai, just outside of Dahab. Sinai has not seen the development of the other major Middle Eastern climbing venue, Wadi Rum, but it has at least as much rock. Sinai does have a long history of climbing; as far back as 1937 a party including the famous Italian climber Comici climbed Jebel Ghara (1,900m) and many of the faces in the area.
China . . . it is fast becoming the cream in my Oreo [Like an American Bourbon Biscuit for those not in the know!]. One pack, lots of places, extra filling and a dunking that gives it extra flavour . . . Chinese flavah! There’s Yangshuo, then Huguan Province and now Getu Valley and the list goes on as I continue conversing with one Chinese climber during my recent trip to Getu. Arches…they seem to be the most abundant limestone formation at China’s most prominent climbing areas.

This is a story about one ordinary bloke and a rib of limestone in Spain. "For a climber the mountains are a testing ground where he is confronted by challenges which not only demand all his skill in meeting them but make him face up to his own motivation, perseverance and resilience when danger, hardship and fatigue all conspire to turn him back from his chosen objective.
Varasova, climbing in Greece an extremely important rock climbing area Not far away from the estuary of river Evinos, the dominating Varasova rocks emerge right where the peaceful valley of Etoliko meets the sea. Plain beauty of the scenery, exceptional solidity of the rock, easy access and sea joys were the obvious advantages which have established Varasova, as one of the most important climbing areas in Greece. Varasova is a limestone massif near the sea, just opposite of Patra and has a height of 917 m. There are three summits of almost the same altitude. Varasova flanks, drop abruptly into the sea on the south and Southwest and this is the location of the most important walls, just between Vasiliki and Galatas villages.

Care free days on the rock. This article is a travel topic Rock climbing, often considered by non-climbers to be a reckless, dangerous, "thrill-seeking" sport, can also be a fun way to push oneself to one's physical and mental limits; climbing also presents an excellent incentive to seek out some of the most beautiful places in the world in search of some fresh rock. The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is Britain's representative body that exists to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers, including ski-mountaineers. The BMC recognises that climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.

Mount Elbrus, Russia Dynamic in both region and terrain, Mount Elbrus stands as a watchtower in the Caucasus Mountains between Europe and Asia.
