This is an article about men, but I'm going to begin by talking about women's experiences. Many of us women go through our daily lives fending off unwanted male attention; most of us have worried about being attacked by men.
One of the most common responses to the anti-porn critiques of pornography is that they’re sex-negative and all too often, that ends up creating a “no we’re not/yes you are” argument. And yet, whenever I read the anti-porn side of things, I’m struck by how often sex-negativity is woven into their claims, although in all fairness, that’s not always the case. I couldn’t figure out exactly what it was that bothered me by the way that Gail Dines keeps talking about gagfactor.com , a website that focuses on men facefucking women. And then it hit me- there are two parts to it.
What Nexplanon Is: Nexplanon is the newer form of the contraceptive implant, Implanon . It is a progestin-only contraceptive that contains 68 mg of etonogestrel. Nexplanon is about the size of a matchstick and is made of a soft, flexible, medical polymer. This single-rod implant is inserted by a specially trained medical professional under the skin of your upper arm. You will be given a local anesthetic first, and the whole insertion only takes a few minutes.
Another story to add to the chorus of voices on why abstinence-only policies promote rape. Here’s my take: when you teach adults and children sex-negative messages, sex becomes an undifferentiated mass of “wrong.” If all sex is wrong, then why try to tease out good from bad, pleasurable from painful? When students are taught not to think about sex, they aren’t going to spend any time determining what they do and don’t want, or what they might be interested in. Of course, they’re going to have sex eventually, but when it happens will they be able to communicate at all through the veil of guilt, shame, and self-loathing that sex negativity encourage? Sex-negative messages don’t keep people from having sex.
Earlier this week, I invited everyone to start an open dialogue about human sexuality, how we communicate about sex, and sex education. Yesterday, I received an email from a reader that asked, "I have an aunt...who says that latex condoms don't work against AIDS, because the latex has microscopic holes and actually those don't work against the virus. Is this correct?"

The sex-positive movement is an ideology which promotes and embraces open sexuality with few limits beyond an emphasis on safe sex and the importance of informed consent. Sex positivity is "an attitude towards human sexuality that regards all consensual sexual activities as fundamentally healthy and pleasurable, and encourages sexual pleasure and experimentation. The sex-positive movement is a social and philosophical movement that advocates these attitudes. The sex-positive movement advocates sex education and safer sex as part of its campaign." [ 1 ] The movement makes no moral distinctions among types of sexual activities, regarding these choices as matters of personal preference. [ edit ] Overview The terms and concept of sex-positive (or, alternately sex-affirmative ) and sex-negative are generally attributed to Wilhelm Reich .
