New video shows legit-looking PlayStation phone in action. NotionInk Hinting at Gingerbread Announcement Next Week. One Android-based device we’re getting more excited over as the day pass is the Adam from NotionInk. Expected to drop as early as next week, the tablet features a Tegra 2 processor, 10.1-in screen, 1GB memory, and HDMI output among other goodies. In an effort to keep the hype needle moving forward, the NotionInk blog has been busy as of late, teasing things like the mail application and web browser. The latest blog post, from today, provides hints as to a potential Android announcement for December 6th.

These guys have been working on the Adam for more than a few months now, spending intimate time with the Tegra chip and its possibilities. There were 4 areas where we felt Android was infringing few patents and stayed away from using those, and implemented our own methods. Seems like we were correct and our portfolio just expanded a little because of this…6th December is another big day for Android and you will find out how fast Notion Ink can work. (Eden is extremely compatible with 2.3) You Tell Us: What is AT&T’s Best Android Handset For the Money? We’ll be taking the next few days and weeks to gauge our readers’ opinions on handsets and carriers as they pertain to Android.

To kick things off, we’d like to know which Android-based smart phones are the best value for AT&T. Is it the new Android 2.1-powered Motorola Bravo or perhaps the Galaxy S series Captivate? HTC has issued a response to the “antennae gate” crisis brewing over its recently released HD7 smartphone, Computer Weekly reports. And what we are hearing so far sounds an awful like what we heard from Apple back in July after complaints began surfacing of a similar issue with the iPhone 4. HTC was prompted to speak up after videos began appearing on YouTube showing HD7 phones losing signal strength when held in a certain way – the videos appear to show the signals weakening when the phones’ bottom portions are covered.

Here’s HTC’s response to Computer Weekly: Quality in industrial design is of key importance to HTC. To ensure the best possible signal strength, antennas are placed in the area least likely to be covered by a person’s face or hands while the phone is in use. Apple’s iPhone 4 “antennae gate” resulted in Consumer Reports withdrawing its endorsement of the phone and Apple eventually having to issue free iPhone 4 cases to mitigate the signal loss. Gameloft Gives Android Users Some Dungeon Love. Get your head out of the gutter, I don’t mean that kind of love. Gameloft via their twitter account announced today that they are giving away Dungeon Hunter to Android users for free as part of their Advent Calendar gift run that is currently going on.

I applaud Gameloft on this promotion they are doing, it is always good to give users free apps, but do they have to make it so difficult? Gameloft is notorious for the licensing policy that they have put in place for Android, a policy that is glaring even with this free giveaway today. After seeing the twitter announcement, I of course fired up the Vibrant to get the title and see how the game played so I could relay the info to you.

Upon getting to the GameLoft page where you can begin the download process (not through the Market of course, sorry AT&T users), I went to select the Vibrant in the list of devices. When I did that, the free download link disappeared! As far as the game itself, it is a pretty nice title! Article Tags. Flash Player Updated; Nothing Major. App Review: Scrollable News Widget. New I have heard of people finding priceless art work at garage sales. I have heard of storage units being auctioned off for $300 and having $100,000 worth of things in them. This is right up there with those unique situations.

According to a tipster to Gizmodo they located and purchased a Motorola Olympus at a flea market. Sometimes the tips and stories that we receive might be a cover story for where they actually picked something up. In either case they managed to get some photos of the newest unreleased flagship phone headed to AT&T. If this rumor is real it was quite a find. Color us surprised (can you hear the dripping sarcasm?). The UK arm of T-Mo has once again missed a target date for the 2.2 rollout to Galaxy S devices. Techradar.com is reporting that T-Mo recently posted an update on their support forum about the fact that they did not rollout the update on December 1st like they promised. Here is a quote from the support forum: Hi folks I’ve been talking to the handset team and the Samsung people today and the latest news is as follows. Unfortunately the 2.2 update will not be available via KIES today as expected and Samsung have confirmed that FOTA will not feature as part of this update, but should appear at a later date. Samsung are indicating the firmware will be made available at some point next week. We’ll keep you posted with further updates as we get them. The comment above comes after the same rep from T-Mo gave this update earlier: Hi folks Thanks a lot for all your patience regarding the Galaxy S froyo update.

In a press release today, Fuze Box is announcing its plans to bridge the gap between popular mobile platforms and its current desktop web meeting solutions. The service launches today in the form of a private beta. With this release Fuze aims to bring an industry first to the people, multi-party desktop and mobile conferencing in HD quality. “Our strategy is based on two facts. First, the meeting room of the future will be a virtual one and something you can hold in your hands. Second, people will want more device choice, not less,” states Jeff Cavins, CEO of Fuze Box. “We are browser, platform, device and network agnostic and whatever mobile or desktop device someone is considering purchasing, we’ll already be there”.

The current situation with desktop conference meetings is strictly its limitations. About the Author Stormy Beach I am the proud father of three, 3, 9, and 12. More articles by Stormy Beach+ » The Astonishing Tribe Acquired by RIM, Will Honor Current (Android) Agreements. One of the first headlines I came across this morning as I was having my coffee was that RIM had acquired The Astonishing Tribe (TAT). As some of you know, these guys were among the founding members of the Open Handset Alliance are were largely responsible for how Android looked and felt in early days. If you’ve ever looked at their portfolio or prototype videos, you’d know that these guys are among the best at what they do. They breathe more than just fresh air into user interfaces, they breathe gloss, polish, and sexiness into it as well. They also appear to have a lot of fun doing neat things.

So, you can imagine my concern when I saw the headline. Thankfully, it appears that the Open Handset Alliance is not going to lose TAT in this move. Of course we will honor our current agreements and service our existing customers and have taken all the necessary steps to keep the two commitments separated. Article Tags Related Posts. Android OS versions flex its muscles with the December Report. New Hello December! With the first of every month, Google flexes its Android OS share muscles to show us where we are sitting as a whole. Our beloved OS muscle has shifted quite a bit in the last month. If you are not privy to the reported numbers from November 1st, I will be glad to enlighten everyone.

Android 1.5 – 7.9%Android 1.6 – 15.0%Android 2.1 – 40.8%Android 2.2 – 36.2% As you can see, OS version 1.5 is still slowly on the decline but still holding in there. 1.6 moved down nearly 5%, with the most notable increase being Android 2.2 moving up 7.2% in the last month. These numbers are looking much more appealing every single month. Still though, the gaps are closing steadily every month.

With technology jumping leaps and bounds it seems every week, I am fairly certain the pie chart we have grown to love will never be one single OS version. Does anyone out there really believe we will ever diminish this pie to 1 or maybe 2 OS versions? About the Author Stormy Beach. Gameloft offers up Dungeon Hunter HD for FREE. US-Based Android shares slowing down, and near-even with iPhone. While Android is still growing, the fall showed a slight decline according to comScore data. It only climbed 2.1 percent over the past month, which is still growth, but not as much as before. Apple managed to hold off Google for the month as it was the only other phone platform maker to gain share. It moved up 0.8 percent to get 24.6 percent of the American market and keep its second-place position. Continued strong iPhone 4 demand matched with better supply may have played the largest role. The guys over at RIM (Blackberry) continued to decline, and Samsung still showed a lead at 24.2%. Thanks to the guys over at electronista for the info! Article Tags Related Posts.
