As of November 18th, Dish Network has become the first pay-TV to truly offer ‘TV Everywhere‘ with a simple FREE application on your Android device. Not only does this work with your Android device but there are applications for Blackberry, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Windows PCs and Macs. It truly does give you the ability to access your home receiver from any device you own. Today I received my Dish Network Sling Adapter. The Sling Adapter is a simple USB device that attaches to the front or back of your HD DVR unit.

The set up for this device is fool proof. Now that we are all set up, what to do now? You have pretty much unlimited options available to you in this application. What I really like about this option is the fact that they are all grouped. Now on to the most important part of the product and application. Pretty slick right? Now for the downside. This can definitely be extremely useful and beneficial. About the Author Stormy Beach I am the proud father of three, 3, 9, and 12. Dell Streak Gets Android 2.2 OTA Update. The guys over at Engadget just let me in on a little secret, Android now has another app that supports wireless sync with your computer. You may remember my excitement over this feature being available in the WinAmp for Android app in my review not too long ago, so I am equally excited to see it pop up in one of our favorite apps. doubleTwist, for those living under a rock, started out as a desktop app for Windows and Mac machines that allowed you to not only sync media and playlists to your Android device, but also sync iTunes.

Airsync is available right now for the first 10,000 buyers for $0.99 and after that the price goes up to $4.99. When I purchased it there were less than 50 downloads. Setup seems pretty simple so far and you are only required to enter a pin on your computer that matches an auto generated one on your device. Click or Scan the QRCode below to find out more information about the doubleTwist Airsync application. Summary and Downloads: Source: Engadget About the Author. The Android community has a sort of love/hate relationship with Gameloft. We love their titles and we hate their constant refusal to add them to the Market, making us jump through hoops to get a game from them.

Still, they have really great games, so they aren’t going anywhere. In fact, they want to give us some presents. From now until Christmas, Gameloft is busting out the Advent Calendar. The Calendar goes alongside their Twitter account (@gameloft) with the promise that ever day from the 1st to the 24th there will be some goodies on their Twitter for everyone. It seems like just yesterday people were complaining that Android’s music systems were lacking in features, and needed a boost to compete. No, wait, that probably was yesterday. Most every day, I see, hear, or read about problems with the Android music system either on forums or in person. It’s a big deal for a lot of people, as well it should be.

Gingerbread promises to bring some significant aesthetic improvements (hopefully to the media player), but we know that you want it now! Winamp understands this so they’ve released the latest version of the Android application, adding on WiFi sync support. What’s WiFi sync, you ask? Winamp is still free, and, according to AOL, there are no plans to change that anytime soon. Article Tags Related Posts. T-Mobile UK is aiming to run FOTA to Galaxy S Today. New Looks like our friends on the other side of the ocean might be in store for a treat today. T-Mobile UK has been working with Samsung very closely to help get Firmware-Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates out in a more expedient fashion. This could be a good thing for everyone very soon.

If carriers can work with the manufacturers to obtain better results in their always slow update process, then we might all actually be able to keep up with what’s going on in Android instead of waiting months for solutions. Here is a blurb from Barry on the forums. Our goal is to make the update process smoother and we are working to become the only mobile operator offering FOTA (Firmware over the Air) updates for the Samsung product range.

Nothing really exciting happened at KES2010, the Korean equivalent to the Consumer Electronics Show. Well, not entirely nothing. LG showed its newest device to the world, and boy it’s fast. In fact, this might be actually the fastest Android phone in the world. It’s somewhat unusual for LG to pack its phones with the newest versions of Android, but this little baby is running Froyo.

To be clear, it still has that LG skin wrapped around it. An early user compared the start-up time of the basic Youtube app on three phones, the LG LU-3000, the Galaxy S and the iPhone 4. AT&T Facebook Page Accidentally Outs Motorola Olympus with Possible December Release | AndroidGuys. AT&T’s Share Facebook page has accidentally spilled the beans on when to expect their forthcoming Motorola Olympus.

The Tegra 2-powered handset had not been pegged with a release date but many had predicted an early 2011 launch. Thanks to a quick screen grab by one of BGR’s readers, AT&T had unofficially listed the phone as being available in either December or January. We say “had” because the carrier has since removed the response and issued a generic sounding statement that reads like backtracking. Boy, it sure would be nice to see see this phone arrive by the end of 2010, wouldn’t it?

We all know that AT&T could definitely use the high-end phone in their Android lineup, however, we’re probably still looking at a January announcement. CES 2011 is a little over a month away where all the industry players are expected to pull out the big guns for the first quarter and beyond. Article Tags Related Posts.
