Shark Attack Monitor. Florida Shark Attacks | Endless Summer. July2 There have been 3 serious shark attacks in Florida in the last few days. The 1st attack was on June 25th, 2005 and 14-year-old Jamie Marie Daigle of Gonzales, La., died from her injuries after her left leg was mutilated by a 6-foot bull shark. Two days later, on June 27th, 2005, Craig Hutto was fishing in waist deep water when he was attacked by another bull shark. Craig (who is only 16) survived but he had to have his right leg amputated. Most recently, on July 1st, a 19-year-old Austrian tourist was attacked by a shark along Florida’s Gulf Coast. He is currently listed in fair condition and had to undergo surgery to repair ligaments, tendons and blood vessels on his right ankle.
