Margaret: David: The Company You Keep Rated M Review by David Stratton Jim Grant, ROBERT REDFORD, is a small town lawyer who is raising his young daughter after the death of his wife in a car accident.
He has been successful at hiding his past membership of the Weather Underground, the radical offshoot of Students for a Democratic Society, who, in the late 60s, were violently opposed to the Vietnam War. Somewhat similar in theme to Sidney Lumet's 1988 RUNNING ON EMPTY, THE COMPANY YOU KEEP is a beautifully crafted thriller and certainly the best film Robert Redford has directed in several years.
