10 Creepiest Abandoned Water Parks on Earth | Environmental Graffiti

All images are copyrighted and used with permission of their respective photographers The water slide glistens in the sun but there are no laughing children waiting in line to come speeding down from the top. In fact, barely a sound can be heard. The whole water park is bathed in eerie silence. Is it because it’s too cold – because the park closed already for winter? No, the sense of abandonment and desolation runs deeper.
These structures were commissioned by former Yugoslavian president Josip Broz Tito in the 1960s and 70s to commemorate sites where WWII battles took place (like Tjentište, Kozara and Kadinjača), or where concentration camps stood (like Jasenovac and Niš). They were designed by different sculptors (Dušan Džamonja, Vojin Bakić, Miodrag Živković, Jordan and Iskra Grabul, to name a few) and architects (Bogdan Bogdanović, Gradimir Medaković...), conveying powerful visual impact to show the confidence and strength of the Socialist Republic. In the 1980s, these monuments attracted millions of visitors per year, especially young pioneers for their "patriotic education." http://www.cracktwo.com/2011/04/25-abandoned-soviet-monuments-that-look.html

The Bone Room - Human Bones

In short, it is perfectly legal to posses and sell human bones in the United States. There are a few exceptions and addendums to this including a few states where import and export has been banned, and of course, protected archaeological resources covered by the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. For more information and specifics please visit our Bone FAQ page.
Nomenclature Rough-skinned newts are most commonly sold under the names "Oregon newts" or "orange-bellied newts". These terms are fictional names created by the pet trade. They do not even come from Oregon, as that state does not allow commercial collecting of newts for the pet trade. Instead, "Oregon" or "orange-bellied" newts are either rough-skinned newts ( Taricha granulosa ) or California newts ( Taricha torosa ), both collected from California. http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Taricha/T_granulosa.shtml

Historical Tree House, Fort, Restaurant & Resort Designs

http://dornob.com/historical-tree-house-fort-restaurant-resort-designs/ Wood tree houses are rarely timeless, built as they are into the ever-changing natural environment and often constructed natural materials such as woods that surround them. The plan is often to make them play places more than permanent homes. Some are created as novelty buildings for rent to the public (such as hotels, inns and other vacation properties) while others are intended to be lofted restaurants, temporary homes or forts for children. A shack in the sky is somehow so much more compelling than the same run-down little lodge structure sitting on the ground below, but it also more susceptible to the elements through its exposure. These beautiful-but-shoddy tree houses had to be abandoned as the pictures above show. Though simple, they are still stunning structures in their way.
