Chips Republic café by Alexchoi design & Partners, Hong Kong. The café was used to be attached to the Grand cinema which customers would easily misapprehend as a concession of the cinema.
For all of the time, it had been silently gleaming at the corner and had been taken a passive role in attracting customers. But the fact is, this café is far more than that. By the time of cinema renovation, Chips Republic decided to step out and shows its British personality and attribute. Chips Republic is still attached to the cinema, but it now went forth and with its own welcoming shop front. Jabiru bar & restaurant by Creative 9, Brisbane – Australia. Named after the post-mining town in Northern Territory, Australia, Jabiru is here to introduce a few spices of Autraliana to Brisbane CBD.
Creative 9 has depicted the finishes from the outback landscapes of Australia through rusted metal, sandstone, recycled timber and copper. The organic ceiling feature weaves through the space and ties the elements into one. The concept of the ceiling feature derives from the contour of the abandoned mining site in the town of Jabiru. Multidisciplinary architecture studio NUDES, has transformed a disused garage into a beauty parlor in Mumbai, using laser cut reflective discs to form a textured skin across the facade.
The Honey Lulla Hair and Makeup Academy features the diamond crusted panels in order to mirror the immediate environment and to bring attention to the glittering salon. NUDES demolished part of the structure and inserted a sky-light into the roof, allowing guests to see the existing tree which hovers over the structure. The space which measures 350 sqft in size, features a styling station, back wash area, pedicure service and a place for make-up products to be displayed. A dual-concept Italian market and osteria that blends a casual California aesthetic with the sensibility of an upscale urban market, Centrolina is Chef Amy Brandwein’s first solo restaurant. CORE created a light and welcoming space where customers can enjoy a quick espresso, eat in the intimate open-kitchen dining room, or select a house-made option to prepare at home. The new restaurant called BU.CO (an acronym of Burger&Cocktail) opened in September 2016 in the largest shopping centre of the Alpe Adria region (Città Fiera di Martignacco – Udine – Italy), as a project entirely conceived by Visual Display, the Italian creative agency specialised in retail design and brand building.
The idea behind BU.CO was born from the professional experience of the founders, three entrepreneurs with solid experience rooted in the world of fine dining and bar-tending who wanted to imbue this restaurant not only with their own skills but also with their personal passion for the art of the cocktail and American music, fine food and a great love for the world of Harley Davidson. Ceiling in cement with visible ducts, large windows, refurbished furnishings, original photos and objects regarding music and motorcycles, a stage for live performances and soft lighting give the environment an immediately recognisable and relaxed style. The planners saw the creation of value and unique natural environment of that was reflected in the choice of primary raw materials. Their processing tells the story of the erosion of the material and obsolescence naturally, like the joint creation of human and material obsolescence and improving as occurs naturally in nature. Also, the desire to connect the interior and exterior with unique lighting and the creation of two members of an outdoor gazebo, correspond with classical garden in architecture world. The building manages to be transparent on the one hand and to show the garden beyond, and on the other occupants outside to experience nature in all its glory.
