Let's talk turkey! And by "turkey" I mean "followers. " And by "talk" I mean "get more! " To start, put aside those quaint olden-times notions that seeking more followers is unsavory. Heck, even Twitter promotes their tools as means to quickly get more: Of course, the early days of Twitter were very different than today. Back then, there were all sorts of spammy ways to get followers. Perhaps it is the hangover from those days that makes people queasy when thinking of "techniques" to get followers.

Nowadays, though, Twitter has clamped down hard. You might ask, why do I want more followers anyway? Well, I don't want to get into a whole sales pitch for social media generally, but a few points stand out: Twitter is a lightweight, frictionless, and serendipitous way to engage customers. With those in mind, let's dive into the tactics. Tactic 1: Tweet when your followers are online Followerwonk's analysis feature helps you do exactly this. A new chart we've added helps you even more: Review of New Facebook Insights. Facebook announced their latest upgrade to page insights on 19th June on their studio blog. They have stated that this is an attempt to clear up their metrics and to make it much easier for people to find out what’s working on their page. I’m one of the lucky ones to have an early roll out (unlike with Graph Search & new News Feed!) So have taken the new insight for a test drive.

Early impressions are good, very good. The look & feel is consistent with the other changes Facebook has been rolling out and really does look much cleaner and much stronger. Number of people engaged is a new metric and is a combination of people who liked, comments, shared or clicked your post – and these metrics are also broken down individually. The key new data though is in the people tab. This is a really neat way to see how your content strategy is working in terms of demographics.

Another new and handy feature is the “When Your Fans Are Online” graph, located under the Posts tab. 9 Takeaways From Social Media Examiner’s 2013 Social Media Marketing Report. Twitter. 5 Reasons Images are King with Social Media Marketing. It’s a well-known fact that people are visual. They like things that attract their eyes. Color, images, movement, all these things bring them in and make them stay and brings them back. So why do so many business bloggers forget this little tidbit? Why are their sites filled with words and empty of color, photos or images? Here are five reasons to add images to your blog, Facebook, and other social media accounts right now: 1. The new big thing in social media, Pinterest is all about the pictures. Everyone can see everything on Pinterest, which makes it ripe for the picking.
