You can still find what he wrote in this Islamic site. The Truth About 7 Layers of Heaven The pre Copernican concept of the universe was geocentric, i.e. they thought that the Earth was flat and was located at the center of the universe. They believed that the Sun and the Moon along with Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Mercury that made the seven known objects of the heaven were deities. These were the only objects people could observe with their naked eyes moving in the sky while the stars appeared to be fix. They believed that these planets or “gods” each had its own sphere.
Rebuttals to "Islamic Information" : Science in the Quran - 9 : What Holds up the Sky? Responses to "Islamic Information" Science in the Quran Chapter 9 : What Holds up the Sky?
Shabir begins: Response: First, Shabir begins with the assumption that the Quran communicates the scientific realization that there are gravitational forces at work in preventing the heavenly bodies from colliding. Second, as we shall shortly see the Quran assumes that heaven is actually a dome surface hovering over the earth. Actually, what is unbelievable is Shabir's gross misrepresentation of Biblical cosmology. The only thing Shabir has demonstrated is the gross misrepresentation of the Holy Bible by some translators of the New American Bible.
The fact is that the Holy Bible does not teach that the heavens above are a metal dome since it clearly states that there is a plurality of heavens: Both Moses and Solomon affirm that the vastness of the heavens and the heaven of heavens cannot contain the presence of God who created them. Contradictions in the Qur'an: What was man created from? Qur'an Contradiction: What were jinn created from?

S. 15:26-27 Pickthall; cf. 55:15; 7:12; 38:76 Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made EVERY living thing of water? Will they not then believe? S. 21:30 Pickthall This pair of verses results in two contradictions around the topic of creation. Regarding the creation of jinn, we need to ask two questions: Are jinn living things or not? The tension between the claim of being created of water or of fire is obvious. However, the testimony of the Qur'an is clearly that the jinn are alive. All of these statements could not legitimately be made about jinn if the jinn were not alive.
The above discussion was presented on the basis of the modern standard interpretation of this verse. Jochen Katz Appendix 1: Jinn are living beings ... What about plants?
