Thinking Putty (also known as Silly Putty ) is a silicone polymer children's toy. Silly putty is fun because it has some unique properties: it is viscoelastic, meaning it can be stretched and shaped and mashed back together again; and as its apparent viscosity increases directly with respect to the amount of force applied (read: it can be torn or shattered with impact). Silly putty is a non-Newtonian viscoelastic polymer, better characterized as a dilatant fluid.

Welcome to the updated OWL exercise pages. For the past year and a half, we have been working on updating the OWL page design and OWL navigation based on our OWL Usability Project findings. One common question I’ve run across a lot these days in the office is how to convert a PDF file to Microsoft Word format (doc), Excel format (xls), or JPG picture format. Usually, people want to know how to convert a file to PDF, but it’s also nice to be able to convert back the other way. Converting to Word is actually pretty simple and can be done directly using an online file conversion service called Zamzar. Going to Excel or JPG is a two step process, but nothing very difficult to follow.

Dispelling Myths about Gifted Students and Gifted Education - Unwrapping the Gifted
Back in 1982, Gifted Child Quarterly published a special edition that focused on myths about gifted education - and the research that dispels those myths. For a look at those first articles, check out this link . It really was an important collection of works, focusing on such myths as " myth: we need to have the same scores for everyone " and " myth: there is a single curriculum for the gifted " and " myth: the gifted constitutes a single, homogenous group ." Recently, GCQ undertook the same task, tackling a series of current myths about gifted students and gifted education and providing the research that backs up why those myths are not true.
