Paper Cranes for Japan

March 11, 2013, marks two years since a magnitude 9 earthquake off Japan's Tohoku coast shook half a country, and generated a devastating tsunami that would change forever the lives of hundreds of thousands. Students Rebuild, with DoSomething.org and Architecture for Humanity , responded with a challenge to Japan's friends and peers across the world: fold and mail a paper crane in solidarity with those affected by the disaster. Each crane received would generate $2 to rebuild in Tohoku, up to $200,000.

December Daily

http://aliedwards.com/2009/12/december-daily-compilation.html You’re invited to join me in what has become a favorite holiday tradition: December Daily . December Daily is an album project that documents the 25 days leading up to Christmas. Many people start their documentation earlier and many people go longer. I have found that 25 days is just right for me. One of the keys to success in this project is getting an album structure set-up in advance of December so that during December you can enjoy the season & enjoy the process of documenting your days without having to be putting the entire thing together at the same time . It is not meant to be stressful.

The Best Sock Pattern EVER!

Or... at least, my favourite sock pattern :) This is the pattern I use for almost all of my socks. It is easy to follow, and fits snuggly and doesn't droop at all. The only time I don't use it is self patterning yarns, those should be all stocking stitch to show the pattern that happens. You could still use all the numbers below, but stocking stitch instead of the K3, P1 ribbing. Yarn: Most classic "sock" yarns (fine yarn designed to knit on 2.5mm needles)Needles: Double point 2.5mm needles, set of 4 - I like Bamboo ones, as the yarn is less likely to slip off.

CAP lesson: Understanding Aperture - Peppermint Creative Community

An aperture is a hole or an opening through which light travels. The size of the aperture determines how much light is let through. On your camera the aperture is represented by a symbol called AV or referred to as an F-stop. F-stops range anywhere from f1.2 to f22 depending on the lens. It is important to remember that the smaller the number the bigger the opening and vice versa.
